hot to prep asv650 right for the track

I might have lead on a sv650 stock with bodywork....
I'm trying to figure out what needs to be done to make it a track bike and ultimately a race bike. I'd like to compare if it's worth picking up this bike on short money and then building it up.
Ideally i'd like to pick up a biek already worked up but they're few and far between and mostly in the midwest and Southeast thus adding another 500 for shipping.

Wera boards have a sv track/race bikes going for about 3400 dollar with goodies

So to prep this sv I might buy i'd have to do the below: ( can you give me rough idea ofthe cost for the below?)

    - front and rear suspension (say 1500$ ??)
    - I believe people do upgrades to the rear so they can accomodate larger tires right?
-wood craft covers for when i go down
    -SS lines(80$)
-new tires (tires are shot on this supposedly) ($250)
-spare set of rims for rain tires ( 150$ ??)

    Am I missing anything?

If you're looking for a street bike turned track bike turned race bike then it might be worth your while to find something at a good price that's already track prepped and pay to have it shipped.

I agree.. but i have a limit/budget onthe bike.. and shipping puts me over

Tight budget this year... saving costs where I can to get the GF a ring

I've missed out on "local" bikes due to not trolling boards daily... and I 'm not making that mistake again

Problem solved... That would be a well sorted bike and you can get brand new bodywork for reasonable money

    - GMD was running some great deals on suspension. PM them for pricing.
    - A Honda F3 rim is a tad bit wider but most people still run a 160 rear tire. You'll need a rotor, cush drive, sprocket, rim, bearings and a Spears spacer kit. Definitely not a necessity.
    - Woodcraft covers are nice but if you have frame sliders it's unlikely you'll need covers on the twin. Motor is narrow.
    - Spare rims (front and rear) with rotors may be a little more than that.

And we have a winner. Forget about prepping a street bike for the track. Just a wild guess, but if it's Rick's bike I'm thinking it's already set up to go about as fast as an SV can go around Loudon. And for WAAAAY less money than you're going to spend turning a street bike into a race bike.

you dont need the F3 rear wheel mod. maybe in the future or if you get a smoking deal on a complete one. the conversion kit is another $125

wont need covers if you have sliders. i like INTUITIVE sliders. never had an issue.

spare wheels are your biggest expense but worth every penny. just keep an eye out. similar year Katana rears will fit and will be cheaper than SV wheels, dont know if the front will work though.

$1500 for suspension is a good number. it could be less, but shouldnt be more.
