I've got my SV. It's done up with suspension n'stuff. It's fun. I like it. No issue in black group. Sometimes I wish I had something with a bit more ooompf as a second track weapon.
I've been toying with the idea of getting a supersport. Either a 600 or liter bike (jicksah sebinfiddy would do too). Something with decent HP is great, but really I'm looking for light with great handling, without dropping all kinds of coin.
Requirements: fuel injected, radial mount brakes, easy to find parts/upgrades/spares, generally reliable, reasonably easy to wrench on. Years looking: 2009-current
That leaves me thinking one of the big Japanese 4. I'm not particular between Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, and Yamaha. I've owned them all, and find them all to be just fine as brands.
I've heard that R6's from 2006 until 2015 are basically all the same, and is a great platform to work from if you are going with a 600. Truth to this?
What about if you are going for a 1000? What's the pros and cons of the ZX-10R, CBR1000, GSXR1000, and R1 for fun track shenanigans? (not racing)
Cost is also a factor, including in upgrading. Most important upgrades would be suspension.
