    Re: Hurricane Mountain Rd

I generally only ride Hurricane Mtn Road as a route to get to The Moat and avoid North Conway traffic

Last Saturday, I rode to Whitehorse Gear (153/Brownfield Rd/Center Conway/Mill Rd) then to The Moat for lunch (East Conway Rd/Green Hill/Hurricane Mtn) and west on 302 to Bear Notch, back down the Kanc, then I meandered south on town roads till I got home

We found a new, and pretty cool, Hurricane Mountain Road about 10 miles from Lake Placid! I think that makes 4 or 5 HRMs that I'll hit in a given season!

For the record, there's no "Mountain" in that one. Just Hurricane Rd.

And for those wanting to check it out, be advised that it gets heavily sanded in the winter, and the sand has a tendency to stay on the road in spots until the middle of the summer. That road is best ridden in late summer and fall unless you enjoy dodging sand patches.

Also, just a few hundred yards down Rt 73 from where Hurricane Rd ends in Keene, you'll find the ADK Cafe, which is a fantastic place to stop for lunch. They have the tastiest Reuben sandwich I've ever had... and I've eaten at New York delis.

For a second I thought you meant Keene NH, which is where another Hurricane Road ends. I was looking all over Google maps for Rt 73 as I'd never head of it!

That video doesn't seem anything like the road we were on. It is very technical with a lot of very tight decreasing radius turns! Tons of fun though!
