Sully749 owns one....with the extended tank! Awesome....

I still have mine.
We might be having a chat soon....
probably the most underappreciated hyper i have ever seen... such a classy machine...
well done paul...
so the point of the thread is really whos got what for mods and what do you think was the best bang for the buck for longer rides... obviously the larger tank. I had the DP comfort seat which was awesome, but after about 100 or so miles you start to think there might be better out there...
just looking for some suggestions to add to the "wish" list....
I stayed at a Holiday Inn express last night.

As far as your seat goes, I still recommend having it re-done by these guys:

It'll likely cost way less than an aftermarket seat, look stock, and they will readjust it to your liking whenever you want.
I have a new stock hyper seat forsale if anyone is interested. Maybe buy mine and send it out and keep your original?

For longer rides the bigger badder tank is a must, love the 2 into 1 Termi system, slipper is nice but unnecessary, DP seat is a little lower than stock which is nice for my short legs . . . and then there's some other non-performance stuff was done before I bought it (levers, clutch cover, etc.). Two changes for this year will be getting rid of the Diablos (put on by PO) and replacing them with Powers (luuuuurve me some Powers) and maybe rearsets.
This convo is making me hungry for spring . . .

I got rid of the stock bars and mirror/handguard combo. Expensive to break, the bar was swiss cheese & the mirrors were useless. I went with a Zeta bar, handguard, blinker combo. Check out the thread on Ducati.ms if you're interested in more info.
I also took off the stock Pirellis and went with the Pilot Power 2CT. The Pirellis sucked in the wet and moved around on tar snakes like crazy. The Michelins hooked up nicely on the road and track. I bought a set of the Pilot Pures at the end of the season and will mount them for April.
I'd really like to go with the Woodcraft rearsets (for GP shift) and the DP racing saddle. I get funny looks from the treehouse when I jam out of T4 and downshift by accident. Not good.

I've been eying them for sometime. I'm a little worried about the seat height though.

There have been a bunch of Hypermotard threads here (including one really fun one).. question is, who owns a Hyper right now? I may be looking to make some life choices and buying one would be near the top of the list. I'd be looking for an 1100...
Not the one you mentioned, but I have a '13 Hyper SP -- and I love it for both urban and track duty. I do very little highway or long-distance riding on it.

I have thought about it, the 796 particularly as I think it is probably better for city riding and my shorter stature. That being said, I am drawn back to the Monster (had a 696 before). I think I will replace my Daytona with another Monster...
WTF ???

I paid cash for a brand new leftover 2013 Ducati Hyperstrada in April of 2014. It's essentially a Hypermotard but with some touring parts. Long story short..... On my VERY first ride from Boston to MaxBMW in NH I broke down!!!!!!! I was filling my tank and then after that the POS Ducati wouldn't start. I was left stranded in NH until GreatBay dealership picked me up and gave me a ride to the train. LOL. They obviously fixed it free of charge under warranty( even though I bought it from Riverside Somerville). It was a sensor and it ran fine for a few weeks after that. Then it would suddenly and w/o reason lose power from time to time.....It would just run at like 50% power. The dealer later told me that was the "limp mode" feature. Riverside fixed that problem and then I sold it a few months later. Fuck Ducati......NO SERIOUSLY. FUCK DUCATI. I'm all done with them. Personal decision of course. I know there's tons of Ducatisti's here.....good for you! See you on the side of road EVENTUALLY.
