    Idle problem?

Alright, well, this morning I went in to a place called Street Sounds Audio to get my neon's installed. It took about two hours to do, well an hour if you disclude the bullshitting and watching the trick movie "FTP" Fuck The Cops. When we were done with that I mentioned to him about the idle problem so he showed me where the little knob was and we did it. Believe it or not, it's a lot smoother at 1.5k than it was at 1k.

I'm going to be posting some pics of the bike taken at night while the blue neons are on, plus where I mounted them for anyone who might want to do this to their sv. BTW, it's a blue 2001 SVS with lower fairing...but I'm sure you woulda known this if you checked out my site at www.angelfire.com/realm2/2001suzukisv650s

    Lataz!

Another thing you might want to check that may cause the idle to jump around a bit is the throttle cablre adjustment, the instructions are in the owners manual, the SV has a dual cable, one opens the throttle and the other closes it, mine was off a bit at my 600 mile checkup, it is not uncommon to have to adjust cables at your first checkup, if you did you own service and didn't do it, or your dealer got lazy, that may be your problem.

the SV (prolly any zuk)is prone to false neutrals if your shift linkage is dirty, you are also more prone to false neutrals when your jammming gears trying to shift quick.

Switch to GP shifting, I honestly don't know why street bikes aren't built that way to begin with, regular shifting makes no sense, you NEVER downshift when leaned over enuf so that you can't get you toe under the shifter, on the other side, it is not uncommon to upshift coming out of a corner while still leaned over

weren't brit bikes built that way but on the right hand side?? been so long since I've been on an old BSA or Triumph.

You can thank the DOT for the shift pattern and location of controls...

I believe it was the mid-70's when the DOT mandated that all new motorcycles that were to be sold in the US had to have similar controls w/ similar functions amongst all manufacturers. That included common gear patterns, shift levers, brake levers, light switches, clutch, etc. Now I'm not sure, but I think Ralph Nader had a lot to do with that so called movement...

The DOT is also responsible for cages to all have similar shift patterns too, be it automatics or manual tranny's...

    Idle problem?

well, just wanted to post to let you all know that I just pitched in the CABA World Series and beat Brooklyn 5-3. I threw 5 1/3 innings gave up one walk on five hits and six strike outs...Brooklyn was 4-0 coming into the game so I just shoved it up their ass! I sprained my left pitching hand throwing a curveball though , so now I'm just taking it easy. Just wanted to share it with someone lol.

Anyway, I know this is a motorcycle forum but I am flat out of things to say or ask. My opinion on DOT is pretty simple...they should wake up and build a role cage for motorcycles or something. Well, I gotta go back to work now so I'll post later on tonight. Talk to yall soon!

    Matt,

You should be careful. You don't want to injure your clutch hand.

    Nice pitching. Way to go.

    CABA= Continental Amateur Baseball Association

Click here for to visit their website

Alright, well, I just got done looking over the site and i noticed that they have this years stats up already. It even has my game up their! Well, if you happen to visit it, click 2002 stats, under Home in the top left corner. Then click 2002 Links to some World Series Statistics, then scroll all the way to the bottom and click College Ultimate Age Division. Here you'll see different buttons to choose different stats. While look through the pitching stuff, notice the name Matt Zimmer playing for the Blue Jays. That'll be me. Hope you enjoy it...and by the way...if I go pro, I probably won't remember you!

PS- if that link doesnt work, try www.cababaseball.com

this will bring you directly to the site.

Thank you all for boosting my ego even more lol

    Any relation to Don??
To be totally honest with you, I wish he were. I did a family history check when I was in like 10th grade, I think, and to my misfortune, we had no relations. I wish he were though...I mean connections are a must in the bigs! Shit, look at that piece of shit fag Mike Piazza (I say hat because he used to be my idle many many years ago). He got in because Tommy Lasorda knew someone who was close to Mike. That's the only reason why he's playing.
