    Indian FTR1200

I didn't see a thread for this yet. But this bike I think is a huge win for Indian. Finally an American, non cruiser, sporting motorcycle that aims at the tracker, scrambler, standard motorcycle target that is pretty popular right now.

I personally want to ride one. It looks like a perfect bike to hoon around on. I think Indian concept was a high standard to reach. Tiny tank, no passenger, impossible scorching exhaust pipes that burned all the test riders. This production machine is possibly going to save Indian much like the Monster helped Ducati survive.

    Indian FTR1200
    Base Price $12,999

    120 bhp
    85 ft/lbs torque
    320mm Brembo radial brakes
    Cruise control
    LED light
    USB charger

    508lbs. Ooof.
The proto was better looking, I think, but this isn’t offensive in any way. There’s an S model with adjustable suspension as well.
I think they’ll do quite well with this.

Hell yeah. Well done Indian. (Although I am not a buyer.)

Biggest downside I can see is the 19/18 wheel setup and the fact that will prevent it from fitting the plethora of performance rubber available.

I've been watching along since they started teasing us with this. I could SO see me getting back into the street scene with this. Which is odd as I have zero taste for the nekkid bike segment. This thing just kind of touches me.

OK That is a bit high. Spec's from web site show this

Weight (Empty Tank / Full of Fuel)
    488 lbs / 508 lbs (221 kg / 230 kg)

    Compared to Ducati Monster 1200

    401 /461lbs wet

Bmw Rninet Pure is around the same as the FTR1200 at 483lbs.

Definitely piggy. Have we learned nothing, America? This thing should be sub-450 lbs.

That said, it's hot, I would definitely bang.

The base monster is a lot closer to the S than the base ftr.

But you can't even get into a monster for 13k.

    Re: Indian FTR1200

I rode one. Rode both actually. Great bikes but I wasn't interested in either, I wanted a middle bike. The base was pretty good but not good enough when compared to the S. I just didn't like all the electronics that came along with the S. I wanted the base with the S suspension upgrades and a few other things. This was a few years ago so maybe they have those options now.
I see them from time to time but they are fairly uncommon.

A neighbor buddy of mine's got one... He absolutely loves it but he's not got a ton of experience on other bikes so it might be tough for him to compare.

I gotta throw a leg over it one of these days to see for myself. I absolutely love the looks of em and the Scout that I test rode was a blast. I can only imagine how much better the FTR could be.

    Re: Indian FTR1200

I rode one and really liked it. It was a finalist for me before I bought my Scrambler 1200, which I went with because it was more versatile, and I prefer the looks slightly and am a Triumph fanboy. But the engine on the FTR is real fun!
