inspection sticker

got stop yesterday. cop ran my plate and came up with 0 for inspection sticker. basically i have no inspection sticker which means i stole the ones on my plate. he said i should have some sort of receipt. what's up with that? :confuse:

Did you steal it? I dont carry my receipt. Im sure its in the dump rotted away by now. I dont anticipate a problem and the one time I did get stopped nothing was said.

kham, when we got pulled over in NH (about 2 months ago), nothing came off it. did something change recently?

like other have said, I don't carry the receipt and have never got into trouble. If you have the sticker than it was inspected. I think the cop was just giving you a hard time.

The motorcycle inspection sites are supposed to send their inspection data to the registry. Some do and some don't. What happens when the data actually makes it to the registry is a mystery.

No one carries a receipt for their inspection. Over the past 11 years, I've never received a receipt for a motorcycle inspection. Your receipt should be your sticker.

If they give you shit about it not being in the system, get a copy of the logbook from your inspection site and bring it to court when you fight the ticket. Then go after the inspection site in small claims court for lost wages due to their failure to report your inspection.

I already had to fight this in court before. Motorcycle inspection stations simply keep it on a piece of paper, at some point at the end of the month the registry keeps picks it up and keeps it in a filing cabinet. Unlike cars, motorcycles do not get entered in an electronic database therefore they will never come up when a cop checks the plate. Any knowledgable cop should know this. I had to go to where I got the inspection and pick up a copy of the inspections the registry picked up. Then fight the ticket and waste my time in court. If that was all he wrote you up for, try seeing if you can talk to him at the station. Good luck.

i suspect it was not like a car but im surprise the guy didn't know and grill me about it... took down the name of the place i got inspected. it was just a warning but i fuckin hate that. also for doing 65 on 55.

i swear to god. not much i can do to avoid rt128. it was a k9 unit. he fuckin came up to me on the same lane on left lane and cut me off and almost touching the barrack. 1/4 of his ass was out on left lane because not much room. damn!
