What insurance coverage do you have?

I have full coverage now and I'm thinking it's kind of a waste. My bike's paid off and it's worth around 5K.

I'm planning on going with the basic coverage and wanted to see who else is doing so.

If you have any stories of seeing your bike drive away in the back of a truck the day after you dropped theft coverage feel free to share them.

I PM'd the address, key to the garage is under the door mat.

There's some beer in the fridge as well, help yourself.

I can keep my bike locked up inside a locked garage. The dog and motion light are back-up if all else fails.
Mind you, the bike is 24 years old so I have one-way coverage only.

I still owe on my bike, so I have full coverage. But it's only $25/month so I can't complain.

The comprehensive (theft) coverage is so cheap I couldn't imagine not having it. Collision is a matter of opinion. I have a bike worth around $1.5-2k right now and I don't even bother with collision. However I was pricing out a few newer bikes and adding collision to a $5500 bike is only +$100/yr for me at Statefarm. That's worth it to me.

Re: What insurance coverage do you have?

Dont do it. If you are EVER in an accident that is 50/50 and you dont have collision you are stuck paying the whole nut of what it costs to fix the bike.

FYI dont make the same mistake I did. My insurance company told me that if I had full coverage in my accident I would have had my money 2 weeks after the accident. Instead the other isurance company took two months to pay (i was found not at fault).

The 2-300 you will save is not worth the headache believe me!

Now if it was a $1500 bike I would do it but not for a 4-5000 dollar bike.
