    Insurance question: ME and NH

How doess your insurance work up there? I'm not asking for a quote or any thing. Like, in mass each bike must be insured as it's own entity at full cost. There is no option to "add on" at a lower rate. The 1st bike costs $1000 a year to insure and so deos the fourth. Just curious,

    Insurance question: ME and NH

NH has no mandatory insurance, only a financial responsibility law. if you get into an accident, without insurance or financial responsibility, you are automaticly at fault, cause you weren't suppose to be on the road to begin with without financial responsibility.
If you get into accident without financial responsibility, you will lose your license and not get is back until you have a SR22 form filed........ it doesn't pay to drive/ride without insurance

Thank you for that insight. Since I've moved to NH, no one has been able to answer that question for me so clearly & concisely. I've driven a few of my beaters around without insurance. I knew there were risks involved, I just wasn't sure exactly what they were. But now I know - and knowing is half the battle!

Actually, you can get a multi-vehicle discount here, making the 4th not quite as expensive.

Up here in Maine, you get a multi bike discount...It's a small savings, but I guess it's better than nothing...Not sure how insurance up here rates with Mass, but I pay $800 a year for my bike (went up $200 after moving to the city)...It's the cheapest I could find anywhere...

    Insurance question: ME and NH

In NH, you can get multi-vehicle discounts. Depending on how rural an area you live is, the rates can get pretty damned low. I pay +/- $300/year (12 months) for my TL-R, fully covered (again, for all 12 months)...

    Insurance question: ME and NH

I live next to Lowell and my bike and my wifes cost about $600/year for full coverage.

We're both Step 9 drivers, which makes a BIG difference.

Oh, and we ride Katanas, who the hell is going steal THAT?

    Insurance question: ME and NH

$800 is the best I could find, and that was after shopping around...I was quoted from most companies $1200 and above...I have no tickets and no accidents on my record...Knock on wood!!! I thought $800 was pretty good for full coverage with no layover in the winter? What are others spending for 1000cc sportbikes? Maybe I need to shop around again...
