    integrated tail/fender eliminator on '04 R1

has anyone else attempted to install an integrated tail light and an SS fender eliminator kit on an '04-'06 R1??? Just did it yesterday, took me about 5 hours to complete it. Looks damn good now, but was a royal pain in the arse to do. I stripped the entire rear end down to the subframe, even had to take the cans off... and of course i didn't lay everything out on a template so that I would know how to put humpty dumpty back to together again, so it was rub my chin, scratch my head, try a bolt or fastener in different holes til it fit. haha. Just thought I'd share, see if anyone else thought it was as much a pain in the balls as i did...

Oh great ... another guy with brakes and blinkers that can't be seen. I hope you don't mind riding sweep on group rides?

Give the guy a break, it's not his fault Yamaha can't integrate as nicely as Suzuki.

    [edit]Eww just read this part:

"try a bolt or fastener in different holes til it fit. haha."

Sorry I'm a [dis]assembly nazi. Mildly OCD even? I dunno. You scare me now.

Probably wasn't a torque driver in sight.

Funny you mention that, about Suzuki. On the big big long long ride Bhvash was saying that to me, how well he could see my blinkers and tail lights. CHeese I know youres are the same, and kill bills too that day. but someo of them were brutal I didnt even know where their lights were.

I put an integrated tail on my 02 GSXR 600. It looked pretty sweet but I think there were about 4 amber LEDs for left and right turn signals in the brake LED cluster. I tried to always use hand signals but I'm sure cagers never had a clue what I was up to and those are the ones we need to be most concerned about.

Suzuki seems to have realized that sport riders are going to rip off the mud flap pretty soon after ownership and they should keep things like brake lights and blinkers separate. On the other hand, Suzuki's integrated mirrors are a pain in the butt to remove at track days. Everybody else is just loosening bolts and taking off mirrors and I'm ripping out the instrument cluster to get at the integrated mirror connectors.

Yeah I already thought about that, looking forward to it next season.

Not enough adjustment range on the view behind either. I see my arms too much, and I like to keep my elbows in near the tank.

Do they rotate out at all at the base of the stalks, or is all the adjustment in the mirror itself? I pushed at the base a little where it *looks* like it might rotate, but it seemed kinda stationary and I didn't want to break it.

I would like a more "out" and "up" view.

All the adjustment is in the mirror itself.
