    jet kit help....

    I just received my Dynojet kit. Should I put it in myself, or have a motorcycle garage do it? I have not done a lot of work on motorcylces. I do have the service manual. So what are some tips or things to be aware of? In case I do it myself.

    Oops, I should have said "Bring it to the track friday or saturday and we will have one of the pit bitches install it for you"

    Just kidding, we can install a jet kit in about 45 minutes, no problem.

    Uhhh Rui if ya didn't like the slab ride back on Sat you won't like the slab ride to the track...lol...it's another 14 or so exits farther up.... if ya wanted it may be possible to arrange getting your jet kit done locally.... (uhhh I know a neighbor of yours with a nice shed.... lol) but if ya take the ride up to the track ya can meet everyone too... hmmm tough choice... if you're opting for the track ride let me know.. I'm not sure what I'm up to yet this weekend... ohh

    also.. we may take a lil backroad run tommorrow (I have jury duty.. LOL) through Dartmouth to Newport and slab it back if you're interested

    Chip I never been up there, plus it would be nice to meet everyone. Well let me know what you have planned for the weekend, and we can take it from there. I have to check also with my wife to see what's up for the weekend .

    Also about today let me know when. I had this week off, but came in to work today. Had to help with some testing.......

    Either that or talk to the neighbor with the nice shed ....

    later

    I was wrong I have jury duty tommorrow.. DOH.. hey by the way did you get a pipe for use with that jet kit.... if not I'd wait for a pipe before putting it in... I'm working sat. but am waiting to hear from Gerard to see if I can possibly get my truck n trailer into the pits to help wrench and spend the night into sunday... plus I can haul your bike if you'd like to go and spend a night (if that's what I end up doing).. oh well either way hit up Jimmy or I tonight and we'll go over the possibilities of a backroad ride tonight

    I was thinking the same thing. You instead of doing it now and then having to change it when I get a pipe. As of right now, no I don't have one. I'm getting one this winter. I was looking at Microns? What do you think?

    I think I will do wait. This was do it at once....

    Do you and Jim have a slip on or full system?

    Rui you might want to think about getting a KN filter to go with the jet kit,
    lets more air through than stock. Lets see now,

    Filter=more air, + Jet kit=more fuel, + pipe=more exhaust flow

    MORE POWER to the back wheel.

    I'm running a full M4.. Jen is running a slip on... I think Jim is running a slip on also.... but I'm not up on the Hondas.. you should ask Degsy and Gerard about those.. and see what they'd recommend for a pipe n jet kit as they both race F4's. Also if you wanted to wait to do it over the winter that wouldn't be a problem as I'm sure Degs will have free time to help consult/wrench as racing will be over then... and we could either do it at Jim's or I'll haul it up to Degs or wherever in my trailer if the weather is bad or too cold.

    I'm running with a slip on, a mild jet (stage one) and K-N filter, didn't want the full system, would have had to remove the EXUP valve and would have lost in the low and mid's with only a couple of extra horse on top. I ride more in the mid due to the fact that there aren't that many places you can use the full power in the area. At least without getting in a lot of trouble.
