Joe is as ethical and honest as Jesus. He makes his living buying and selling bikes, and will never lie or misrepresent something. If you don't like the idea of someone charging more than they bought something for in order to put food on the table for his family. then quit your job and work for charity. You'll change your tune mighty quick.

Pro tip: first post to defend a dealer, without a single bit of bio info, isn’t going to have any credibility.
et48’s post is slightly better in that he included his location, details of the specific (if singular) transaction, and didn’t compare him to the putative son of a Christian God. But this isn’t Yelp and these anonymous reviews by one-time posters makes the seller suspect.
No dog in the fight.

Re: Joe's Sport Bikes Pelham NH?
Hi,
After seeing an advertisement for a bike we liked, I did a bunch of research on Joe's shop. It was a great experience and I feel like what I read here is pretty accurate.
We bought a 23 Indian Scout, used with a light season's worth of miles and could not be happier with the bike, price and professionalism.
People mostly post because they're upset with an experience. I'm leaving this one for the opposite reason. In fact, I registered on this site just to add my feedback.
Safe riding everyone.

Hope you stick around and get active on the board. There's more than a few of us that are riding road couches now...

Re: Joe's Sport Bikes Pelham NH?
I posted an ad for the triumph on CL and included a pic of both the triumph and the Harley at the end and said the fxbb was also available (sneaky I know).
Joe contacted me saying he had a customer/friend looking for an fxbb and wanted to know the price, then said what I wanted (for a private sale) was more than he wanted it for… well duh brah! How bout you just show the customer the bike and not be a middle man? But get that money honey!
So I checked his inventory and at the time he had a similar Harley cruiser like four years older with at least three times the mileage and he was asking more than I was for my bike…
Maybe the customer needed financing or something and was looking to got through the dealer specifically, but…
National contacted the seller of the Sportster that my wife bought and threw out some wicked low price. Kinda poor taste for dealerships to do that and just hope a seller settles.

If he's in the business of making money by buying & selling used bikes, it only seems obvious he's gonna lowball ya. No?

Poor form to be like hey, take less money so I can immediately make money off you. Contacting a private seller trying to get wholesale is lame.
Imagine being like hey I don’t have the bike ur looking for but I saw a clean one on Craigslist… u know, be a community rather than out for himself.

Re: Joe's Sport Bikes Pelham NH?
Kind of funny someone would join a sportbike forum that doesn't ride a sportbike just to comment on a thread that's 5 years old.
But welcome. I'm sure you will be an active member of our forum and participate for many years to..... and he's gone. Lol

I’m sure he has No affiliation with joe

I think Stoneman scared him away. He was too nice.
Hey Gixxer, too be fair I know a few used motorcycle dealers that use that same model of buying off cl and then flipping them. Mutual Enterprise in Springfield is one of them.
I find that less annoying than when sales people from Southampton Harley were responding to for sale ads I had trying to get me to trade the bike in for a new Harley.
-
Re: Joe's Sport Bikes Pelham NH?
Yeah I get it, still frustrating tho when you’re trying to sell a bike.
But buying and flipping is one thing, contacting someone saying you KNOW someone who is looking for your bike…. But you’re asking too much because they want to buy it and make thousands off you, is just awkward.
Again, if the person they knew needed financing through the dealership I get it, but otherwise he just cock blocked a sale in my eyes.

Re: Joe's Sport Bikes Pelham NH?
And I really shouldn’t…..
But, the Bible references and “if you stand for nothing you’ll fall for anything” on his website…… just irks me. And makes me die on my hill even more, like oh what a honest and noble guy you are…. BUT, when you knew someone looking for my bike, your profit was more important than my sale, when you didn’t have the bike the person wanted, I did.
Like, I had someone interested in the triumph and offered a price, I declined but sent him a link to a three year older 1200XE on CL that was listed for the price he offered.

I kind of hate when religion is crossed over into business. I won't eat at chick-fil-a because of it.

I'm guessing you aren't a fan of Bakley Wheel Chocks?
https://baxleycompanies.com/pages/a-gift-for-you
I bought a Bakley years ago (great product!) and the last line in the instruction manual was something like "we hope you enjoy this product until the day Jesus returns to bring his children home"

Religion showing in a small business is a good sign its an honest business. Fear of God and all that keeps them from hiding problems.

Never even heard of them.

I'm not big on politics in business, either.

Oh, lord.

Re: Joe's Sport Bikes Pelham NH?
If I’m a seller, I have zero problem with dealers calling me and expect to hear their initial wholesale offer. It takes little time to let them know I’ll pass on their offer, and I know that the floor has been set. Over the last few years inventory has been low, so more dealers are chasing inventory. I have no trouble with them making money.

Re: Joe's Sport Bikes Pelham NH?
This conversation is always annoying:
dealer: "Oh you have [foo bike] for sale, we'd love to buy it from you."
me: "Around what price? [describe my example]"
dealer: "Oh about [2-3k under private party market]"
me: Haha no.
dealer: "It'd be a real quick easy sale."
me: Yeah I'd hope so.
