    Went to Keyless Ignition

Got rid of the key on my bike. Now I don't have to worry about losing it at the track.
This is a small win for me because I'm not that great with electrics, I always have bad luck. So for it to work first shot. Feels good.

Some kind of fob, or just direct connect?

    Re: Went to Keyless Ignition

I just wired it to start regardless. There is no "key" anymore anyone can start it. Now I don't have to worry about loosing the key.

This guy is giving you a valuable tidbit! I had a keyless ignition on my GSXR, but the battery would drain if the bike sat unridden for more than 4 days. I'm assuming yours is a track/race bike only? If so, save yourself the hassle and disconnect the battery between outings.

Or put in a toggle switch.

Also make sure there isn't supposed to be some seen resistance from the ECU if not you may have to put in some, as it will run like Poop in limp mode....

Here read this just in case......its a 100Ohm resistor but I would throw a meter on it just to be sure.

The hot set up is to get a toggle style kill switch off of a kids dirtbike and put it on the left handlebar where your switch gear used to be.

I didn't click the link... but the issue sounds like the one where you remove/jump the clutch switch. That's the one that retarded the fuel/timing map (don't remember which). I will give a read when I'm not at work, but would be surprised if the ignition did the same... Related to being in N / having clutch disengaged. Good looking out either way piggy!

Yup its similar dif resistance I think but last year I made the mistake of removing the clutch switch and tied them toghether but it works and runs and drives as it seems......then its way down on power, fixed it and she ran as it should. FUGGIN Limp mode in the ECU sucks ASS

I ran a full weekend like this... I went from an '03 Gixxxah running 26's one weekend, to the '06 running 24's on 60% power the next weekend... Think I made it down to 18's that first season (at full fuel/ignition).

On a positive, when running at 60% power, it IS possible to use it ALL.

Yeah I put in a 10W 100ohm resistor and the regular kill switch functions as the toggle switch so far i have had no issues.

Did you modify the harness passing through the OEM toggle?

Interesting... that's trick! As is, ignition "on" but kill switch "off" still draws current (as mentioned above). No experience giving the OEM throttle switch gear double duty. good deal!
