Just to make sure ,move it more to the left since it sits more on the outside of the right knee .

    Re: First Knee Down

    Nice bro!!!

I remember my first time...on a CRF 50 Pit Bike! Scared the crap outta me!
First time at the track was in T3 of all places...and from there it got addictive, very much so...then you learn why the style of "leg out, knee down" was developed and its even cooler!

in not out. the mark is on the inside of the puck so you wanna move the puck further in so that it touches down in the middle. and yes up a little too

Thanks for the advice ,you guys sure know your stuff

one more question ,"toe position" on the peg when taking a corner ,on the tip of the peg ? or full contact or inside of the boot flush against the bike as I tend to do ?

    Re: First Knee Down

    ok
you got that scuff on the inside of the puck cuz you were prolly really pointing that knee to the ground, but when you gonna get some more speed and not gonna point the knees out that far you gonna have to do what Doc said, move them up and out, the more you gonna drag knee you"ll see that you'll have to keep moving the puck cuz you're riding position might change

the toe position is up to what feels good to you, if you keep your foot on the tip of the peg you gonna drag the toes, I wont explain it right so I'll someone else to do it, don't wanna confuse you, but for now do what feels good for you, you"ll have to adjust anyway

    Thanks Dudutzu and CBR929RE

I have had my left toe touch the ground and the steel toe cap took the beating ,again thanks and will continue to adjust as needed .and agree the more speed the less I will have to stick my knee out .

didn't think of it that way. but yeah I agree, the faster you go and the more you learn about riding the more you'll have to adjust stuff till you get your body position set to where you want it.

Steel toe boots are probably the worst thing you can wear to protect your feet on a motorcycle. The steel is strong enough to prevent injury if you drop a hammer on your foot but with the energy involved in an automobile accident, the steel can crimp on to your toes or even sever them right off.

All good motorcycle boots will have a soft toe and maybe some composite material around the edge to act as a slider. If you insist on having toe protection, find a boot with a composite toe guard which is less likely to maintain a crushed shape after a severe impact.

I think he meant the metal toe sliders as in the first pic it appears his left leg is show a little of the top of a motorcycle boot. but this is good info for people to know if they didn't already.

I have two sets of boots ,Sidi Vertigo and a pair of Pumas ,the pumas have detachable/replaceable toe cap on the outside of the ,that is what I was referring to not Timberlands .
