    Knee Pucks/ Sliders

I need some new sliders for the upcoming Tony's days. I know some of you race and most do track days so since I'm a noob when it comes to them, I'll ask you.

The pair that came with the suit -spidi-, are ground down to the point that i'll be hitting leather if i keep going. They lasted 2 days (after flipping them around and switching legs to find more plastic), or about 10 passes on T**. I would really like to find some that last a long time, or just longer than a day at the track.

From briefly talking with Doc, I'm a planter not a skimmer.

    What kind do you use?

    What kinds last the longest?

What ones give the best feel?

    Where did you get them?

    Thanks.

Get the klucky pucks made by woodcraft. Should last you a while and give good feel.

I'd learn to be a skimmer, as no peg will last very long if you drive them into the ground constantly.

    Re: Knee Pucks/ Sliders

I really like the ones that came with my Technics suit....I think they're some kind of ceramic. Just ordered a new set...first set got flipped over at Calabooge and will likely last to the end of this season. I got probably 30 track days and 3 races on 'em.

I plant in some corners and skim in others. Even when planting, its pretty short in duration...

Do not buy leather pucks if you're a planter.

    Learn to be a skimmer.

Joe Rocket "ceramic" pucks have lasted way longer than any other puck I've used and I've tried most of them.

I haven't tried the Klucky's but they're next on my list.

    Klucky pucks made/sold by Woodcraft

    1) Voted best knee puck during Roadracing World's comprehensive puck shootout
    2) Designed originally by former Loudon racer John Klucky
    3) Now made and sold by current Loudon racer and all-around awesome guy Eric Wood

I've used them for years. Rock!

    Re: Knee Pucks/ Sliders

My A* pucks didn't last very long. I put a set of Dainese pucks from the P103 pants on my suit and they seem to last longer. I am also skimming more then planting. These pucks don't seem to blister like the A* ones I had. This is only my second set, and I have another new set laying around, so it will be a while before I will have to buy more.

I've been happy witht eh Vanson pucks. But, I'd like to try something different.

The Vansons have lasted me almost two seasons. I'm a skimmer.

    Klucky Pucks.

    Street and Comp has them.

I was a knee-planter until I figured out skimming. Klucky Pucks can certainly handle planting, if that's your thing.

I need to get my knee to touch before I can determine whether I'm a planter or skimmer or just plain crasher.

+1. For me, it just started to happen naturally after I stopped "trying". Working on proper body positioning on my TTR helped (not to mention that it is a pretty scary feeling the first time you touch down).

Ya first time down was a bit of a shock. Thought for a sec I was dragging bike parts. After that it was game on.
