Anyone know KTM street suspension (SD 1290R)?

I have a 2021 SD 1290R with what was billed as having an upgraded WP package as of 2021. The suspension is adjustable front and rear and I’m looking to get some insight on whether the WP Pro package is worth the money as an upgrade. I can’t seem to find any information online about whether there is really any significant difference in range of adjustment between the stock package and WP Pro package. Adjustment for the Pro package is certainly easier, but so what?

My intent here is to use the bike for track days here and there. I will run in the advanced group and certainly want a well-performing suspension, but for almost $6,000 I’m not sure how much more I get from the WP Pro package. I get that the WP components are better than stock, but I’m running track days here, not racing.

It’s really hard to find anything helpful online about WP, so interested in hearing from anyone who can share some knowledge.

Personally I would go on stock suspension until I felt it was worn out and in need of service or replacement, but I am not an advanced group rider.

I would at least go one track day and fiddle with stock before deciding if an upgrade is needed.

Thanks for the responses. I’ll check out those links. A wise man did suggest that I get to the track and play with the stock before deciding. Just trying to get more specifics about the two suspension packages.

Well if you’re thinking about 6k on suspension, you really could just bump that number to 10k and buy one of my RC8 race specs.

Well, I’m not at all looking to spend $6k on suspension. That’s the point.

I’d give WP a call and see if you can get the adjustability ranges between the two setups. It may be good to see the damping/compression curves at the each extremes of the adjustments and play it from there. I can’t see why WP wouldn’t share that information to a potentially customer.
