I've been here 5 years, and hadn't made it there yet, due to schedule conflicts every year so far.
A few thousand Harleys, a few hundred Japanese bikes, a few handfuls of everything else.
Many many people milling about; lots of food and beer and clothing vendors.
All pretty much as one would expect.

I did take a testride on an H-D Road King with the new Milwaukee Eight engine.
It's a nice bike. Huge, though. I can't imagine getting something this big and ponderous for one person.
Comfy, kind of like a really good office chair, with wind. One of the things I like about the Road King is that the windshield is optional; I went without.
Easy to ride once moving, good torque. Controls are meaty and have good feel and feedback.
It doesn't match the how and why I ride very well, so I won't be getting one, but I can see why people buy them.
It's a very charismatic machine.

The new fad is the air ride baggers with the 29384774" front wheel.
Euqlly as obnoxious, imo, as the billet barge choppah.
I'm a couple years away from allowing myself to entertain a barkalounger, myself.

The new road king special
+1
I need to get a test ride with my passenger of choice. I think we'd dig it. And I'm prepared to drastically change my riding style to match the Road King way. The new 6-speeds with cruise are marvelous on the interslab. As good as the gold wing, which is my benchmark for mile munchers.
I was at NHMS Friday-Sunday. Hit the demo tents there Friday and Saturday. Rode the FZ-07 (finally), Super Tenere (again, post redesign), and had 2 more goes on the FJR1300ES.. also tested the Multistrada 1200S and a Moto Guzzi California. We really hoped to get over to the HD demo setup, but it didn't happen. I liked it better when they did it at NHMS last year.
Hopefully we can catch a demo truck somewhere else.
