    Leather Alterations

Hey guys, anyone have any experience with custom leather alterations in eastern MA? I have a particularly uncommon build and have an AGVsport jacket that I love. My shoulders, chest, and arm size are maxing out the jacket, while the sleeve length, jacket length, and waist are still spot on. Was considering having some additional stretch panels applied to some seams to open it up a bit; no additional leather involved, but i obviously dont want to take this just anywhere.

Anyone tried this before? Suggestions? Dont even try?

I'm sure others will chime in but here is a thread on leather work, i'd start from the last page and work your way back. There's lots of info and contacts in some posts.

In theory I think what you want to do could probably be done by a professional leather worker. The biggest question that only the leather worker could answer would be price.

I had some alterations done on two jackets but it was in northern CT. Not horribly far but still outside of what would be convenient for your location.

Well willing to drive a bit to get quality work. No sense in dropping pennies on altering a $400+ jacket. Firm believer of "get what you pay for."
