Leather pants: Icon Automag vs JR Pro Street

So I'm trying to decide between these:

    and these:

For everyday riding. Any of you own either of these, and if so, how do you like them? I'm leaning towards the Icons because they look a bit looser, but it's hard to tell from a picture and $300 is a lot of change to toss down without being able to try something on.

I'm looking for something comfortable enough to use for everyday work commuting, yet more protective than the textile JR's that I use now.

Re: Leather pants: Icon Automag vs JR Pro Street

I just picked up some icon automags, haven't ridden with them yet but they are pretty comfortable to wear around the house. Very thick leather with removable knee armor- feels like it'll be good protection. They are billed as 'overpants', so if you order your size they will run large, but I got a 34 and they are a bit hard to fit over jeans. I will probably wind up wearing them over b-ball shorts/long johns on hot/cold days, respectively. The only downsides are: a) no belt loops, only a nylon strap and buckle closure, b) no pockets, will have to stash wallet/keys/cell in jacket or tank bag, c) no knee velcro for sliders, and d) don't fit tucked into boots. But they arent meant as track leathers so c and d are moot. Also, they only have an 8" zip in the back, would have preferred a 360° zip to match my jacket.

Overall though, they are very comfy and look like they will serve well for sport/touring duty this summer. Certainly better protection than my old draggin' jeans! I got mine lightly used for 150, but honestly I'm not sure I'd get them at the retail $300 price...

From another member on the sv-portal forums. They're basically brand new, looks like the guy might have put 2 miles on them, said they were too big for him.
