If you have $400 to spend on gloves...

Dainese Full Metal 6 or Held Titan Evo?

Yeah, I know there are less expensive gloves, just want to see what the consensus are in the $400+ price range.

    In true NESR fashion....neither.

Tried a pair of these on the other day thanks to Mike Randi. Will be picking up a pair of them this winter.

Definitely going to be 1st on my list to try when I need new gloves. I hear nothing but great things about them.

I've gone the Held Titan route in the past, at that price range I'd suggest looking into full customs ala Heroics as well.

My last pair of Helds were the phantoms, which were top of the line at the time. I switched to the Dainese a couple years ago and I’m pretty happy with them. To your original question, I’d go Dainese if I were to drop that kinda cash on gloves. I’ve also found with Dainese, most gear can be bought for 30% less than msrp

You are better off buying mechanix gloves at HF than any modern AStars. Same quality and you can save another $195

I ripped through 2 pairs of Held Phantoms, despite the rave reviews. Not crash damage, just wear and tear. Maybe its my fat hands and sweaty palms?

I'm unbelievably happy with the RevIt SpitFires. They're in the $2-250 price range, so if you want to try $400, maybe check out the Jerez Pro.

It's worth at least $100 more NOT to have to deal with Todd.

I'm guessing he wasn't impressed with your current track statistics? (Yeah, I got nothing this morning, it's rainy and bleh and I'm at work.)

Heroics seem to split in the palms everywhere there is not 2 layers within a year or two. If it weren't for that I'd say they offer the best protection. I feel I can't wear mine for fear they simply shred right off in a slide. I have repaired them once and they failed again immediately in other weak spots.

Re: If you have $400 to spend on gloves...

Found a set of the RS Taichi gloves this summer that I have been happy with so far. Prior to that I had a set of the Held gloves that I loved for many years. Just couldn't find a pair locally that fit my hands comfortably so that is why I went with the RS Taichi instead.

I did try on a pair of the Heroic that fit awesome, I hesitated and didn't buy them when I tried them on, wasn't able to get in touch with Heroic to get them afterwards so went with something I could get my hands on/in.

Only crash tested the Helds and they came out very well and so did my hands. Haven't been able to crash test the RS Taichi yet and hoping not to.

You and Roland must have some acidic sweat or something, or you're running Woodcraft pegs for grips. My 5+ year old SPRs are still hanging in there with no signs of leather fatigue.

Wait, you and Roland ALSO like 125s... there must be a connection! (In all seriousness I'm wondering if there is a body chemistry thing that makes kangaroo react badly to some people?)

Did you see the picture of corey waving recently? Same exact shit. The leather is crap. I'm back in my 13 year old motogp/berick gloves. LOL

Not to derail the thread, but interesting to hear the Heroic feedback. They were going to be my go-to for a new suit/glove set up if I got back out on the track. Seemed like nice stuff.

I'm in their suit this year after running Heroic gloves since 2012. You're more than welcome to poke at my gear to see how it's constructed, as well as how my 5+ year old SPRs are holding up. I've got a set of 2010 Held Titans and a set of AStars I never wear anymore as well for comparisons although I suspect all will be too small for most to do direct fit / feel comparisons with.

    Based on what?

That statement contradicts my experience with the GP Plus gloves I've been wearing for the last 4 years.

Same thing happened to my heroics after a year and a half. Palm disintegrated.

Mine did the same thing. 1 crash in the rain and the seams exploded. Repaired, then had my T9 highside, and the palms exploded again.

The owner is a class A douche who disparages his competition (especially the ones being built in the same factory), provides terrible customer service, flat out lies about shipment dates, and is now publicly begging for money to offset the cost of his wedding.
