Leathers???? (looking for advice)

Would like to buy a two piece set of leathers for mostly road and occasional track without having to take a 2nd mortgage out. Being a newbie and not wanting to waste money I am looking for some advice (realize there are a lot of opinions on this so will take the majority). What makers should I look at and stay away from? What features should I look for on the jacket and pants? Can you suggest any dealers in NH area where I can try some of this on? Any help will be appreciated.

I like Teknic and got mine from newenough.com . $350 for 2 piece suit and gloves......looked brand new. They have new and used there as well.

The only dealer in NH with a fair amount of leather stock that I can think of at the moment is Seacoast Sport Cycle (Aprilia dealer in Derry, NH on rte 28). They carry Vanson and Teknic brands. Vanson and Dainsese are the most expensive but also the best quality leathers that I've seen. Teknic I hear is quite good and is also less expensive. Stay away from Joe Rocket and Icon if you can help it.

If you don't mind the ride Brockton cycle center in Brockton, Ma. has a great selection of leathers in stock, Rocket, Fieldsheer, Alpinestars, dainese, and Teknic I believe. You can check them out at brocktoncycle.com I bought my Fieldsheer suit there, great prices and you can try it on first!! good luck

Ditto. I have got many deals from them including the leathers I wear now.
