I dont' understand why so many people are so AGAINST wearing helmets. No, they won't prevent an accident. I understand this. But in the case of an accident - which is always likely on an m/c - it's sure gonna go a lot further than say, YOUR FLESH & SKULL will to protect you...

I just don't get this. Admittedly, I 'only' wear mine about 98% of the time. But is it worth it to NOT protect your loved one? Go and crush your own face. Fine. But be a little more considerate of your passenger, I say...

I agree. I just don't understand why some people are opposed to protecting their head when riding. I have to laugh when I see people without helmets cruising on the highway and their faces are peeled back from the wind. I've done it before and it is simply uncomfortable. And then we read about accidents like this one and wonder

I was always a little lax when it came to wearing a helmet until I saw my father face plant on I-89 after colliding with a deer. Luckily he was wearing his helmet that day. Which was odd because we were coming back from Laconia, and we never wore helmets to bike week.

Well maybe nonsport biker riders feel they have less brains to protect so they don't wear helmets..... I always wear mine, cus I don't like the bugs bouncing off my forehead, I do feel my brains are worth protecting....
