    Lithium Battery On The Street?

Thinking about getting a lightweight battery, anyone running one a streetbike/track day bike?

    Any recommendations on brand?

Have you had any problems with them?

    thanx

There was a discussion about them earlier with a lot of good information in this thread: http://www.nestreetriders.com/forum/...batteries.html

I'm not quite ready to switch to them for street applications.

They make such a miniscule difference that I wouldn't bother with a street/track day bike. Risk outweighs reward, IMO.

I have one in my Sprint. So far, I like it! Mine is the Shoria http://www.shoraipower.com/p-155-lfx18a1-bs12.aspx

Some people have concerns about the battery performance when it's cold. I saw a video of this battery starting a ZX-14 at 0 degrees, and that sold it for me!

No problem. Here's where I bought it from, and they had the best price. https://www.motomummy.com/store/prod...d=18829&page=1

Just be forewarned, these batteries are selling fast, and are on a 1 month back order now. Many on other forums have said that they can't get one immediately.

If you read about these batteries, you'll find out that there are several advantages besides weight savings! Besides, I'm riding a Sprint ST, it's not exactly svelte to begin with!

BTW, the weigh difference between the batteries for my bike was 7.4 pounds! The stock Yuasa weighed 9.6 and the Shorai weighed 2.2 pounds.
The service life of these batteries is around twice that of a lead acid battery, it has a low discharge rate, so you don't need a battery tender, and it has a faster charge rate.

The biggest benefit that I'm impressed with is the cranking power and speed of starting! This tiny little battery has 270 CCA and 18Ah vs the stock Yuasa's 180 CCA and 10Ah! My bike cranks so much faster now!
