Talking A little late but it was a fun weekend

Gotta love it when the call for rain and snow all day and not a drop or flake falls
Sean, Leah and myself did some dirty riding Saturday, it was fun and wet..
The pictures don't do the hill justice, it's steep!!!

A bit of a hangover Sunday am but we were riding again Sean, theiglue, PB, Bob M and myself took off for some dual sporting. We got yelled at by some lady driving down the road, yelled at again by some horse riders (maybe next time we shouldn't stop and shut the bikes off while they pass by? ) and chased by multiple dogs

Yeah, the KTM left me stranded on the side of the road!! It's fixxed now and ready for action again though

That's all, just a quick report with a couple pictures Thanks again to Sean for leading
It was cool riding with you iglue.. And great to see ya again PB, thanks for showing up today Bob

It looks like a lot of fun; espcially the action shots.

Is it feasible to ride a dual-sport, year-round, without the need for a sportbike?

Ie. street tires/wheels/sprockets for the summer; and dual-sport for the fall/winter.

I plan on riding mine year round I'm kinda losing intrest in sportbiking so I'd say yeah, it is feasible to have a dualsport and not a sportbike

I honestly don't remember when the last time I put a leg over the R1, it's been sitting in the garage at work for a while now

What happened to the chain on the KTM? Now ya got me worried. .

I'm all registered for the state of NH. Now I gotta set it up for street so I can put it on the road in Ma.

Lost a master link, I guess I need a new one every time I change from dirt to street wheels. I got lucky, no damage to the case or anything seeing the chain was bound up up front

You're using a new clip each time, right? With the flat side always towards the outside? Look at it closely if you can't tell -- it's a punched out part, similar to a retaining ring, and it's got a flat side and a rounded side. The flat side should always be the one bearing the load.

No damage to the case? That coulda been nasty. Once had to drill the heads off of all the case cover bolts to get one off after the chain packed around the counter-shaft sprocket.

ChR1s, I hadn't been using a new master each time Looking at the replacement one vs the one that came off, the new one looks much less likely to fail. The link itself is larger than the clip by quite a bit so it seems the chances of it getting hung up on something are not as good. I'll give it a test run in Pachaug tomorrow and see how it is, i'll have a spare in me pocket

Yeah, I got real lucky with the case, especially seeing I had no case saver on at the time (it's back on now though), I had taken it off with all the gearing changes I did when I first got the bike. Who knows, maybe the case saver not being there helped by letting the chain ride off to the side of the sprocket??
