9 days in Maine for the 4th of July week, it's going to take me a while to recover I didn't go crazy with the pictures but took enough to get a good idea of the fun.
ITS 85 trail shot of the bikes
Small but very fun track. This little thing is on the side of the ITS 85 trail out in the middle of know where.
We also discovered some nice new trails in the area
Moosehead Lake, we stopped for lunch in Greenville. is this a boat drag racing a plane?
We decided one night to go on a night ride and I got the bright idea to go up a mountain trail. It was interesting and I'm glad I was the one with the quad.... though my bike also made the trip because none of Todd's had headlights.
See the moon in the background??
Some fireworks back at camp on the pond
Todd had to take a couple days off from riding so I Motarded the KTM and did some street riding by myself. I had a friend move from RI to Maine in the same general area and I figured I'd go see if I could find him. I knew the town, knew how to get there but forgot my detailed map at home with his directions. It was a 40 mile trip 1 way but I figured what the hell, the KTM gets 65mpg on the road and it's fun to ride so I'd take my chances at finding his place. I stopped at the post office, town hall/police station and had no luck... or so I thought. I later found out the property is not in his name and is in his fathers name and when the town hall gave me the last name with a first name anitial, it didn't even ring a bell in my head
Anyway, found even more ATV trails and had a nice little street ride.
Stopped in Milo and took a few pictures of this cool waterfall
I also made a stop at my little camp on the way back
Our toy box for the week... there are also water toys not shown in this picture
But they are in this picture
A somewhat long ride this day, we went from Abbot to Harmony. Not sure of the exact miles but I'm guessing it was about 70 miles round trip. This is a bridge on the trail to Cambridge...some of these things are kinda scary.
The last real ride for the week was killer and covered some serious ground. Again I didn't have my bike so I don't know the exact miles but by adding things up on a map I'm guessing it was close to 100 miles round trip. We rode from Abbot to Bingham, it was a 3 hour ride each way and most of it was fire roads so the pace was reasonable. There's a lot more distance to be covered in this loop and this will be a VERY long dayfor the Labor day weekend trip planned in the dirty section
This is just a sample of the scenery in the area
I've been cleaning bikes and gear for 2 days now and I still have the quad to clean, a lot of work but it was all worth it.
