Going to look at a Gixxer 6.....

I am looking to trade the ole "GHEY" Concours this weekend with the bike shop I bought it from, they have a 97 GSXR 600 with some minor road rash, and it just so happens that I have the parts it needs from a previous project

I'm not exactly an expert on these bikes....I know some of them had issues with the cam tensioner. Is there anything else I should be looking for?

I'm not sure if the 96 750's using the same (or similar), but I had to replace the CT on mine after around 7k miles.

Going to look at the 600 because the guy I bought the Connie from has it, and he told me when I bought it that if I didn't like it, he'd hook me up on trade. I sort of have to pick from what he has. Also, as I said, I have lots of parts for one, I fixed a wreck last fall.

I liked the Connie, and actually haven't received all that much ball busting over it.. ...but for one thing, my wife likes to ride on the back of a sportbike better, which was one of my main reasons for getting the Concours, and for another, the Connie is a heavy pig in the twisties.

Also have that track day coming up, and I'd really rather ride a sportbike around the track.

Yip. Cam chain tensioners are common. Can't really think of much else. Hope the clutch lasts though. Clutches in those are a puzzle, to say the least...
