Looking for decent riding gear stores

I've been to Brockton Cycle, but I was wondering if there were any other places that have a decent selection.

I'm the type of person that likes to try the gear on in person to see how it looks/fits and then go online and buy it cheaper =)

You can always go to Vanson though the cheap part don't fly

They have special days 2 times a year and you can look for 2nds and suits not picked up.

I might take a trip down to Vanson again. Last time I went I was all caught up on the bikes that got dyno'd and the stunt show (April's open house).

I'll go take a closer look at the gear, but they did have quite a lot. The prices were really high from what I remember.

You can buy some Vanson items at New Enough

So you might be able to pull of your "try in the B&M, then screw em and go online" strategy with Vanson.

I think there is a reason that there aren't many gear stores with great stock. A big one is probably because of cheaper online pricing.

If cost is the main issue then this suggestion
wont fly too far but Moto Mkt has lots of high end stuff
    to try on.

They have Dainese, Rev It, etc... its expensive but the quality and fit are not comparable to others. And there are real live people to help you !

That said I bought a Cortech textile jacket off of New Enough's clearance page !

I buy all my stuff from online stores. Prices are infinitely better, the brick and mortars cant hold a candle to online as far as selection goes, and depending on where you buy from, the return policies are usually really good about returning stuff if you got the wrong size.

I had the worst buying experience from those people.

Ordered a pair of Cortech Apex Air perfed leather pants.
They double charged my credit card.
The pants came in without a hanger and a matching zipper
part so I can sew it to my Kobe perfed jacket.

They also effing lied to me telling me the zipper does not
come with the pants yet all the documentation and my
experience and another dealer do say it does come with a zipper.

It is rare that I foam at the mouth and will usually give a
    business the benefit of doubt.

Don't lie to me and don't cheat me ... they did both and as far
as I am concerned it will be a cold day in hell before I toss even
    a penny their way.

gear is cheapest online, of course, but unless you can be sure it will fit, the hassle of returning it and paying for shipping vs. just going to a shop and paying a premium are probably well worth it. i think i would pay up to a 10% premium on most things. MM had a Kiliminjaro jacket for $300 last fall that I was eyeing. logged on and found that New Enough was only a bit cheaper. no way would I buy from NE if I could give MM the business.

again, this all goes to show "believe what i say and not what i do," because i bought two of my jackets online (a great Gericke jacket for $69 and a Mossi perf for $40 ). but, helmets I have bought at the place in Medford and gloves at Riverside, etc. Parts I also order from GBM and Riverside, as I find it good to deal with a local shop; they will tell you shit you might need to know before diving in.

    Manchester ...

So far I have dealt with 3 different people to resolve the issue.

I gave up after a month an a half and his last email was a blatant lie. The only time they responded to me was when I complained on their website.

This was my first attempt to "support your local bike shop" ...

They can go to hell, I don't like being lied to ... if you can't, you can't and I can accept that. If you don't WANT to and tell me you can't and I can verify that you are lying to me ... then go to hell with a frozen banana split up your ass.

The best place I ever dealt with was NewEnough.
I had problems with my orders ... all I got from them was:
Yes Sir, How can we fix this?

One time I misordered and I paid shipping which was fair.
One time they sent the wrong size and they paid everything.

Now if someone here has a zipper half for a Cortech jacket or pants, I be willing to pay cash for that sucker.

how long is the zipper? alot of the brands seem to use the same zippers and appear to be interchangeable. I bet you could find someone with one.

It is a full circumference zipper which is the problem.

It is 37 inches long for a 38 inch waist pant.

It seems to be the standard YKK fine tooth zipper but I am having lots of problems matching it cause there are so many zipper models out there.

About the zipper the simplest thing to do is to go to a good tailor that's familiar with working with leather and have them change both sides !

Its not much money to do.

Thanks for the advice ... I might have to do that.

It just pisses me off when you pay good money and
you get screwed with the little details.

If it was a used and cheap pair of pants, I would eat it and
tell myself I got what I paid for.
