probably too bulky, not sure how you'd get it upstairs, but more cool E transportation for the city

How BMW plans to corner the US scooter market with its all-electric CE 04
    Looking for something....electric-bmw-ce-view-jpg
    https://techcrunch.com/2021/11/17/ho...lectric-ce-04/

Set to arrive in showrooms in early 2022, the CE 04 will start at $11,795. Like all things BMW, it carries a premium price tag. Yet, for the feature set and the fact that it’s electric, it might actually be a solid deal.

The scooter will seat two, has 42 horsepower and an impressive 45 pound-feet of torque. The 8.9-kWh capacity battery pack is targeted to offer 80 miles of range and it supports level 2 charging up to 6.9 kW.

Plus it has that large 10.25-inch TFT display that when paired with the BMW Motorrad app offers up turn-by-turn navigation and can track rider data, like how far over you’ve leaned in corners, as well as the typical motorcycle information.

If this thing can deliver 2x range, that bodes well for the next Gen electric motos.

I'm not any closer to purchasing anything, but this thread is awesome.
If I had storage space and wanted something for entertainment more than utility, some of these options are amazing. The Zero stuff is cool and all, but some of these prototypes are next level cool.

They must also be designed primarily for road usage, meaning electric dirt bikes likely won’t qualify.

I'm travelling a bit too much over the next couple months, so probably on hold until I'm back more solidly, but if the Build Back Better Act makes it through the senate....that might be all I need to head down to the VanMoof store and pick up an e-bike. My single speed is useless out here!

I just read the link above and didn't dig deeper. That article made it seem like there was money (up to $7.5k) for a fully powered motorcycle without pedals?

Yup. I think the point is, not for e-moto toys (without pedals) that aren’t registerable.

We have our second eBike. Hard tail mountain bike style with front suspension, disk brakes, mid drive motor.

Fantastic for city use. Want to rig a windshield for winter use.

The article says exactly that. The only stipulation was it must be registerable for the road. Is there something contradicting this elsewhere?

    I've researched diesel/electric hybrids, a little

100% electric doesn't suit my needs living in a rural area, and retired from commuting. But I haven't found any sold in the US,

Wasn't there some Rokon competitor that was using a tiny engine to drive a generator to recharge the primarily-electric powertrain? This post is useless without a link, but does anyone else recall this being a thing?

    Re: Looking for something....electric

My company is now selling Super73's in our retail locations, so of course now this is on my radar with employee pricing or possibly buying at wholesale price. Looking at a pair of S2's for commuting/errands/beach runs with the lady. But now I'm wondering if I should wait to see if there will be gov incentives to buy ebikes next year

Curious what battery breakthrough has allowed it to weigh the same as an Alta, double the output AND double the range at that output?

    Looking for something....electric

To be fair the Alta’s tech is what, a decade old now? And it looks like they ditched a full frame, no doubt searching for weight savings.

edit: The battery is only .2 kWh larger than the Alta though. Real world testing will be interesting to follow.
