Sadly the fun ended early, a peg bracket failed when the owner was hitting the dirt section. Lots of potential, I would want something slightly bigger / beefier personally. I don't know if the Storm Bee will scratch that itch or not. The US importer for some reason doesn't acknowledge the Storm's existence?
Hence the Cake desire

Oh hell yes. Take my money.
Seriously, I want that.

Dunno if I give a shit. Should I?
And the Segway is a few hundred clams more money.
I give zero shits what exciting new graphics one has vs the other.
Is bikes and beards that annoying as fuck guy on youtube that flips bikes (and makes "content") for a living?
Any cliff notes on the mods? My reservations on the Sur Ron have been it's power for larger dudes like myself and the fact that it really is a powered mountain bike, not a real dirt bike. Most reviews I've seen have said steering with the rear isn't really a thing.
I have a few acres and a small tractor. I've been wanting to build a small track out back for the kids to rip around on. I have my eye on a set of Razor bikes for the wee ones. I intend to burn the track in using my KTM 200 XC. But we are close enough to the neighbors and I am enough of a tree hugger to really want to go electric. I will probably not buy gas machines for the kids. But what will I ride? The Sur Ron has seemed like the best choice so far. But I worry it isn't anywhere near what I'm used to with an actual woods bike. (My 200 XC)
Please show me the path to having a ~$4k Sur Ron that will satisfy!
He started with the 160 and put a bigger battery and controller in and got 55mph out of it. Then he changed sprockets and a few other things and took it on the highway and it hits 70. He said there is more he can do and probably will but it's months between videos on that bike.
He did a direct comp to the ktm electric dirt bike and while it wasnt as good on dirt bikey things it crushed it on the pavement. Ktm is $12k
He did mention that the 260 might be a better starting point with different rims and suspension but he didn't go into much detail.
He got it off Amazon for $3500. I think the batt and charge controller was another $1500 or so.

There's no way around it. You are in over 5k to get the sur Ron and set it up. That's why the cake seems appealing. Just start with the better hardware and I'm sure there are tuning hacks to get more power out of it

The Cake also starts at like $10k. And by my read the one to get is $13k.

Interesting, Motorbikes Plus actually has a Freeride, and have more coming?

You may have missed the part where it's pretty sketchy with all that power in a bicycle frame. The cake looks like the correct chassis for the job. Mx based are too beefy/heavy, bikes are too spindly.

I like the racer, but over 400 pounds.

Re: Looking for something....electric
Saw the Drill One pop up in my YT feed, looks the part, clearly heavier built than the Suron, more pep out of the crate, proper dirtbike seat and ergos...
Then I watched a ride review of one overheating after 10 mins on it's softest mode. And the fun fact that the motor doesn't use hall effect sensors so starting torque is meh, and it's not as efficient as it could be. Then the price of $10k+ solidified my developing lack of interest.
