Looking for good place to take the ERC...

Hi can anyone recommend to me a good place to take the ERC?

I have already taken it once, but I'd like to take it again since it's been years, and I would really like to improve to the point where I could ace the class...

The last time I took it was with Ironstone.. maybe they were having a bad day but I didn't get much out of the class. Most of their feedback was "You did that wrong" and they weren't really capable of "Here is what you need to change to do it right."

Most of what I know I could improve on is the real low speed stuff.. the throttle on my bike tends to get "snatchy" at really low speed when the bike heats up in the city/traffic/parking lots and I lose confidence to do those very fine throttle movements since it becomes so easy to "jerk" the bike. Especially when I have the bars turned all the way to the steering lock this really tends to mess with my head.

    So anyway.. recommend away..

How about a Lee Parks Total Control Clinic instead?

Hmm.. yah the one in Loudon in August could probably work.. I will think about it, if it's 1 instructor per 6 students it's probably what I'm looking for.

Too bad I really don't have the money to go buy leathers and sign up for the ARC class followed by the track day the next day.. that'd be a lot of fun.

    Thanks!

It does matter who your ERC intructors are. Some instructors just don't have the depth of knowledge to speak to very experienced ( and knowledgeable) riders.

Total Control is a good choice. You don't need leathers for that or for a Tony's Track Day, either.

I know I don't need leathers for the class, no problem there.

I had forgotten I didn't need leathers for a TTD... I have always worn leathers at the track and I'm not sure I'm comfortable without them.. I'd have to slow myself way way down to feel comforable at the track in my cordura.

Basically I am tough to fit in leathers.. I had a cheap Teknic 2-piece suit... I lowsided in turn 3 in 2007 and damaged the suit enough I tossed it wanting to get something better...

Then I got married and we bought a house, so I haven't gone and dropped the $$ for a quality suit.

It doesn't matter.. $300 for the class I'm cool with, $200 for the track day I'd be cool with, $500 for both or $1000-1500 for both + leathers is more then I'd want to spend. I kind of feel like I'd get more out of a street-focused class then another track day at this point.

    Ben,

I am trying to find out who will be teaching the next class in Framingham. There are only a handful of instructors I would send you to....

    Stay tuned
