aweful idea. I think they need to take a much closer look at the root causes of motorcycle accidents, hell accidents in general, before trying to push something like this. And I'd love to know where all those research numbers on motorcyle accidents came from.

I doubt it will go though... Cars do not have mandated ABS until 2010

I'll give it till 2020. Car drivers said the same thing..."it takes away from my control". The natural reaction is to grab a fistful of slow down in a panic situaion. Even for experienced riders.

Current figures come from sparsely documented accident reports from state sources and the hurt report from the 70s. There is a major new study underway but it could take years.

Not sure foreign manufacturers would like that as well. Added cost all around.
