Need you to map out routes for me for Laconia...Please :)

Ok, I'm renting a Street Glide and going to Laconia. I have not been there since I was a kid....25 years ago or so.

No clue how to get there and even less of a clue where to ride. I'm going 2up and want some nice NON-highway roads. Looking to ride for maybe 2 hours max at a time. What's out there??

Sorry if this is a silly question, but like I said it's been years since I was there.

    What suggestions do you have???

Get yourself out of MA to my start point. I have no clue.

Getting to Laconia. Mix of making time and decent roads... 121 to 43 to 107 to 129 back to 107. Little less than 2 hours from start to finish.

Assuming you're talking of route out of and back to Laconia...

...head down 106 to 129 east, left at 107, right onto stage road (a mile or so after turning onto 107), follow that to the end, right onto 140 up to Alton then left to head up 11 back to laconia. It's a decent loop. 106 and 11 are state highway, so stretches of 55mph, but 129 and stage rd is a nice windy 35-40mph (posted speed) road. Plenty of fun to cruise at 10 over.

Another is to do the loop around the big lake, but I'm sure that's going to be very crowded this weekend, so not sure how enjoyable.

Or head from Laconia up to Plymouth on 3 north, get to the other side of Plymouth and head south on 3A down to Franklin, than back to Laconia. Again, sections of 55mph, but with towns and some twisty spots mixed in.

Friday, Saturday or Sunday, visit NHMS for the classic. About 1 hour there... (I haven't done all of this route, but I rarely go to Laconia) https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Laco...8413!3e0?hl=en

Hang out at the track for a couple hours.

Head back this way... About an hour back https://www.google.com/maps/dir/New+...8546!3e0?hl=en

129, 107, and 140 are all part of my "I'm bored" random route I take when I have time. They aren't super twisty or anything, but as MHenry suggests some fun can be had on them. Lake loop, yeah, nice ride. Crowds... your call.

MHenry has a good loop for you. I did a lot of that same route yesterday. 107 is bumpy but enjoyable

if you can find your way to Seabrook, you can take 107 all the way to Laconia

for riding, a loop east of Winnipesaukee will be least conjested with traffic.

I avoid Laconia like the plague during bike week, but Tuesday I had to go to the county courthouse in Laconia, the least conjested way there is Rt 107, I also had to go to the courthouse in Ossipee, rt 153/113/171 is a nice loop

Head home. Similar to getting there, I'll get you to Haverhill. You do the rest.

Make sure they set up the rear shocks for 2 up riding. They need to put in more air pressure. I do believe they use the same rear shocks on the Street as my Glide. The suspension on these things is far from superior. A bit of air in the rear really firms things up and it will feel much better for your passenger.

Just curious where are you renting a street glide from and what's it cost? I kind of want one I think but I've never ridden one so I'm curious to try it for a couple days

Pretty hard to beat the simplicity and pleasantness of 107 from Seabrook to Laconia. Slab it from Danvers to the first exit off 95 in NH (unless you know of a nice ride that parallels 95) and you will be on 107. If you want a small detour with a really nice ride, right after you take the left at the lights in Raymond, take an immediate right onto 156 north, then at 5.4 miles take a left onto Long Hill Road at the 4 way intersection with all the antique farm houses at the top of the hill. Stay on that road and it will take you right back to 107 where you can take a right and keep heading to Laconia. Also, when you reach route 4 in Epsom, go straight across, it will eventually bring you back to 107 in Pittsfield.

I usually do that as well, but you do miss that one really tight right hander on 107 (of course 1/2 the time there is a car "turning left" there as well). If you go straight across Route 4, keep your spidey senses up. I'm 80% sure one of the Pittsfield town PD's lives on that road.

You can also turn right from that road onto Webster Mills, go straight across 28 to Kelley Corner then left on Pleasant to catch part of 129 (turn right at the end of Pleasant), which will take you back to 107. Webster Mills isn't terrible. Pleasant is pretty terrible. 129 is nice.

He's going to be 2-up on a Street Glide, his spidey sense should be up to avoid getting rear-ended by a farm tractor...

Rt 132 after the tolls on 93 will wind you that way and it's a nice route. The 104 Diner is not far off 132 either for a nice pit stop.

One other thing to note, my two detours won't add mileage to your trip.

I've never been on a whateverfloatsyourboata glide (or any Harley Davidson for that matter (OK, there was this one time in high school, but that was just an experiment)), but I can tell you that *slightly* exceeding the posted limit is quite possible 2up on a dedicated touring bike. I hope Colin has deleted the video.

Oh yeah, done that too on Japanese touring bikes. I've ridden quite a few Harleys and none made me feel like the de facto speed limit (meaning posted limit + 10 in NH) was too low (except maybe those towns that post back roads at 25). There's a reason you rarely see them speeding, it's more pleasant to just cruise on them. Their touring bikes are very comfortable, very nicely put together and great for their intended purpose, but clearly not made for cranking corners at high speed on back roads in NH.

Well to get out you can take Roller coaster Rd to Pease Rd to Winona into Ashland and head north. That's only a half hour but a good way to get away from laconia without traffic tool around and take the same way back if you are staying in laconia. If not 93 would be new Hampton exit 23 Ashland 24 pretty close to this route if you decided to cut your ride short and slab.

Hey douche! What day(s) are you gonna be up? Tonight me thinks we'll be hanging by the fire at our place. Tomorrow night we're heading to Rocky Road campground (2 miles north of NHMS) to see Fuzzbox...

Thank you for the heads up...I'm assuming our riding will be quite sedate.

I'd ride surface roads through Ipswitch and Georgetown. Then skirt downtown Haverhill and pick up 108 to cross the border. 108 will bring you to 107A in Kingston and back to 107. This isn't the best road in the region, but it isn't horrible either.
