    Mass Antique plate?

We have a 1975 BMW that is really only ridden to events like Car or bike shows. It seems to qualify for an antique plate.

But it’s not clear if they issue plates, or you have to submit an antique plate for it. Anyone do this?

In the upper right of the form, that box with 3 options tells you about the plate.

Check off "Antique Normal", you get a plate from them.
Check of "Antique Vanity", you get three choices/tries with your choice of what's on the plate. Maximum 6 characters, only letter and numbers. No matter where you want a space, it's going to be between the 3rd and 4th characters.
Check off "Year Of Manufacture" and you use a Massachusetts plate from that year.

When I had the El Camino, I would regularly see Massachusetts automobile Year Of Manufacture plates for sale on Boston Craigslist. Not sure what's available for bikes, though.

    Re: Mass Antique plate?

I had a 1978 or 1979 motorcycle plate tacked on the wall in my walk-in cellar workshop where I keep my bike. I just went to see it, and it's GONE. Crap.

The worse loss was in 1976 when I registered my new-to-me 1973 Triumph Bonneville, they gave me plate number FX1200. I wish I'd kept that plate, it would be worth a small fortune today!
