Yeah, quick on the edit snag, Greg. I took the commitment part out so it wouldn't discourage you right off the bat.

Becoming an instructor is an intense process (it used to be worse), but then you have to take up weekends to teach. I'm down to 3 or so weekends a year, now.

Nah, I already know there's a decent commitment involved in it, but I'm sure it's worth it. Just gotta keep my fingers crossed that it doesnt interfere too much with my racing & other things, but if it does, oh well.

We'll see what happens when the RCP schedule comes out. I'll think about it & make a decision after that. Hopfully I can attend.

    Yeah, he's a bastid.

I wonder how it is working at the Cycles128 location. Anyone have any experience working up there?

BTW, Ken, if you wanna keep this on topic to the MCN magazine I'll shut up now & start a new thread

No no, I want to hear about this too.

Me and Pete can play "Good instructor, Bad instructor".

I'll give you two guesses which one I'd be.

MCN is a great mag. Been getting it for over 15 years. Great product and bike evaluations, etc. Worth the $$.

Yeah, it got so bad that at one point Greg's pulse raced up to 20 or 30 BPM.

    Re: MCN goes color

So, I received my first color issue of MCN last night. It looks pretty good, but they've got some bugs to work through.

Most of the photos look decent, EXCEPT MINE! (Yes, I supply the photos as well as the words) The press operator must have bumped the magenta inkwell before he went to lunch, because the photos look terrible. It's not the quality of my photos, because one of the 6 I submitted came out good. All the bad photos are on the same side of the paper when printed, which says press operator error.

They know about it and I can only hope it won't happen next month. Overall, the color version is nice and is a big upgrade IMHO.

    Re: MCN goes color

Just got my copy in the mail. All I can say is WOW! It looks so much different now that its in color. Nice to see bikes in color like other mags. Overall, the color balance looks ok...like Ken said, it needs tweaking. I work in the print field (prepress) and I can tell the pics are carrying too much ink. The shadows are a bit too heavy, which cuts down on detail. The uncoated paper its on soaks up ink more than coated, so the place thats printing this mag needs to open things up a bit on press. Color can shift during a press run, so your pic looks good in my copy, Ken. All in all tho, a 100% improvement over the black and white version. Not bad for a first effort in color. Excellent Street Strategy and Proficient Motorcycling articles too, Ken.

    Other articles include:
Evaluation of the new Ducati 848 Superbike
    Suzuki's B-King (Sporting the 1300 Busa mill)
    DR650SE R&D
    Honda VTX1300 tourer
    Used bike value guide
    CRG vs Pazzo adjustable levers
    Proficient motorcycling
    etc., etc., etc.
    Makes for good reading. Enjoy!

Thumbs up Re: MCN goes color

I looks great! I had no idea that Fred was brown. LOL

Weird as you look through it and the familiar layouts jump out at you differently.
    Kudos.
I even got an extra tab of paper on the top of page 25/26 woohoo.
