Medfield State mental hospital, great roads and a nice (creepy) walk

So on fathers day I took a ride in the country side near Holliston MA. friend on his Tuono V4, and me on my freshly broken in MTS Pikes Peak. I have never owned a motorcycle that would so happily loft the front wheel without scaring the pants off of me. Generally, we rode with respect and consideration for the locals. But thankfully there are some roads in the area where you can be a hooligan without being a poor ambassador for our sport. I just thought I'd share the sentiment. It's beautiful down there in Holliston/Medfield!!!

We stopped at the creepy abandoned mental facility (it's HUGE) and I snapped a few pictures if you're curious. It's ok to walk around in there, the security guys just try to keep people out of the buildings. Lots of people there walking dogs and such.

oh ya, I used to live there. 27 has nice parts, then the back roads through dover and sherborn are great, just keep exploring! Look for farm road in sherborn! There is a 90 degree corner thats absolutely beautiful!

Also, they filmed a bunch of the movie "Shutter Island" there!!!!!

we had some work out there so i was able to walk around that place...def creepy...did you get all the way to the back of the place where they had the building with the high barbed wire fence?...that must have been where they kept the violent ones or where they did the human testing...found a bunch of weird pits all over the grounds as well, not sure what those were for

Re: Medfield State mental hospital, great roads and a nice (creepy) walk

There was a creepy movie called "Session Nine" made at Danvers right after it closed, it was on TV a couple of years ago, I couldn't watch the whole thing. Long time ago I volunteered to "help" at Met State Hospital in Waltham when it was a hospital. I don't know how I managed managed three afternoons, I don't think I helped anyone, but it helped me in my career choice, that is, not the mental health field.

On the Medfield ride you weren't too far from Causeway St. also that is a fun road .

We walked around, didn't see the barb wired place. Wow, sounds creepy. A buddy of mine said he'd been inside one of the buildings that was no locked and the cellar was full of suitcases :\ Not a pleasant thing... all those people who checked in and never checked out....

The grounds has a cemetery as well.

I lived in Medfield most of my life and live in Millis now, there are lots of nice twisty roads that run through that area. I experienced Claybrook Rd in Dover for the first time today on my Hyper and it was fantastic. It runs between Main and Centre. Be careful if in Norfolk, there are lots of nice roads but speedtraps all over the place, especially rt. 115.

That's the place... We roamed all in those places as kids, old 50's styled dental chairs and crazy looking rooms with straps on the beds and shit.

Oh and after reading the except from that article on the Tauntun place it must be the place that there were referring to in the American Horror story show because this was sort of on par with 2 of the themes of the show... The serial killer nurse and the rituals in the basement which were alien in nature in the show not satanic

"Located in Taunton, Massachusetts, Taunton State Hospital was built in 1854 as a psychiatric hospital, and it boasts a rather horrifying history. One of the hospital’s most famous patients was Jane Toppan, a serial killer who confessed to having murdered at least 31 people while working as a nurse. And yet, according to some of the stories, the people who ran Taunton State Hospital may have actually been even more terrifying than many of the criminally insane patients it housed.

Rumors persist that some of the doctors and nurses would take the (obviously unwilling) patients into the basement and use them to conduct satanic rituals, and in its later years both patients and doctors reported feeling a tremendous sense of unease when even approaching the door to the basement. Reports abound of a “shadow man” who would crawl on the walls and watch the patients. At least you wouldn’t feel lonely, right?

I spent a lot of time in high school exploring Danvers State. It was a blast. The tunnel system underground was impressive. I'd love to see if they blocked them off, filled them in or if they are still there. I changed a lot of the clocks in the hall ways to a specific time and it's visible in Session 9.

I used to work at Northampton State in the 80s, but in the 'new' building, but here are some pics of the old main building in 2002. It had been closed for probably 30 years at that point
