    mice

I was at the shop today to get an air filter and some brake fluid for my VFR, and mentioned that i was going to screen my snorkel for mice, cine half of the filter changes involved mouse nests. The sales guy pulled out a $100 flashing light and noise making mouse repellent. Anybody have any experience with these things, good or bad? I already pack the area under the back seat with moth balls after having to rewire part ofthe harness for mouse damage.

get a couple rags, soak em in kerosene, stuff one in the exhaust (you'll need another rag if ya got dual exhaust) the other goes in the air intake. throw another one under the seat for good measure

Let your cat (or someone else's cat [or get a cat]) have access to the garage.
That's why they decided to associate with humans. It's what they were designed for.
Or if your a dog person, maybe a terrier.

I am screening it with the next air filter change. This just got me curious since I heard such things do not really work.

They don't work long term. The animals just get used to it.

In the garage I would use an antifreeze bucket of doom. In the house I just use water in the bucket.

What's the difference between a bolt and a screw?
First you screw, then you bolt.
