I don't know what that picture is cause it's too dark but the Fact of the matter is: I guarandamntee ya that I ride harder on the street than MOST people in new england + I've ALWAYS run M-1's on my 929 since I bought it new in '01 (after burning off the stock shit tire) + I have NEVER EVER had ANY PROBLEMS with em + they've ALWAYS stuck like glue to the road + THAT is what REALLY MATTERS!

metzeler Comk k's progressed into Sportec M-1's + now into M-3's + are all excellent tires!

I've gone through 2 sets of Corsas and they are phenominal; so much so that I'm hesitant to get anything else. They have great feedback at all angles, heat up quickly, and have superb grip on cold asphalt.

I'm ordering tires this week as my front is nearly bald and have finally talked myself into giving the powers a try. I know they will be fine... I just have to get over the mental block of switching away from a tire I trust.

I dont know about riding hard Mr. Softcore. But from the way you ride I think your Gay. you would have been right up my ass if I didn't say "NO"

You know the writing on your mirror that says "objects are closer than they appear" Well if that was true you looked like you were on my tail section riding with me! Just bustin on ya fuck face...

& from what I have seen from a lot of riders here there are a lot of us that ride very hard & fast on the street.

I wouldn't call Chr1s's riding "Hard" I would call it smooth & fast as all hell!

Here's the OTHER SIDE of the story.

IMO, the M1's are good tires, not great. I happened to experience a blem -- notice the spongiform encephalopathy along the edge of the tread of the tire? Metzeler wouldn't give me a new one -- that tire had one, brief ride on it. It was scary loose when heeled over. In the past they were fine tires, with decent grip and plenty of feedback. Though not the most stable under braking, and not capable of much abuse -- they'd spin up way too easily and squirm under braking. They are "comfortable" tires, with plenty of compliance and they give up grip in a very predictable manner. Many riders report them to be "quicker handling," but I'm guessing much of that perception is due to the atypically tall profile of the rear tire causing the bike's effective rake to be steepened?

The Pilot Powers are an exceptional sport tire, with loads of grip, tremendous wear resistance and neutral handling. Not a lot of compliance though. They're much happier when on their sides, and their stiff carcass prefers a smooth surface.

I've only got a few hundred miles on a set of OE-spec Qualifiers. So far, I like them a lot. Predictable handling w/o the vague feeling of the Powers. They turn in & on their sides much more readily than the D208/218. Although I haven't pushed them hard at all yet, they're already showing signs of wear. I expect to be replacing these tires quite a bit sooner than I would a set of Powers.

Is that the one where your front tire left that phunky black mark in the street at about the same time as the rear?

    That's still eerie.
