Mmmm. December riding fix. (w/ pix)

I'm sure I'm not the only one here that pulled the bike out of "storage" for today's unusually warm December weather...

Pulled the Tuono out of the garage today & went on a nice cruise for a couple hours or so. Rode around on some of my local favorites, then up Rte 1 to Plum Island to explore a little bit. The roads weren't too terribly sandy, but they were a little too damp to get too crazy, so I kept it mellow for the most part.

Here's some shots I took along the way. The cloud cover didn't play nice for the most part, but once I got to the northernmost tip of Plum Island the skies started to clear up & I was able to get a couple of half decent pics.

    Pic 1 - Just a field
    Pic 2 - Water's gettin high...
Pic 3 - HAHA, your truck is stuck!
Pic 4 - "Oh, hello officer.... No, sir, this isn't what it looks like..... What's that? Why yes, I do work for Tony's Track Days...... A what? Pedophile kit? Uh oh..."

Pic 5 - Water's high at Bradley Palmer St. Forrest.
    Pic 6 & 7 - Plum Island Airport.
    Pic 8 - 182nd St.

Pic 9 - Northern most tip of the island. Sun starting to peek through
Pic 10 - Southern part of the island.
Pic 11 - Polar Bear Seagull floatin down the river.
Pic 12 - Time to head home.

Good deal Pete. Annalisa and I considered it. That is, until we remembered that I have a nail hole in my rear tire, that needs to be taken up to Tricky Mike.

So, I removed the rear wheel. Maybe I'll get it up there next weekend. We'll see.

We also saw a couple on an older Beemer on 146 north headed toward Millbury.

I was thinkin bout it, but figured an hour of riding wasnt worth the chance of binning it in the wet.

Nice pics. I too got out for a bit. Finally installed my HIDs and got a chance to try them out. What a difference.

It never fails that days like this pop up a week after I store the bike. Oh well...

    Nice pics, Pete!

So I'm sitting at my sister's house in NJ yesterday morning and my sister says "Its 65 out. We should ride!" Luckily, she's the Ops Manager at a dealership, so I borrowed some of her gear and we "borrowed" a few bikes and did about a 3 hour ride. It was a nice break from the kids and chaos of the weekend and some quality time with my sorta-sister

Yeah I know Luckily the rain we got washed most of it off & I made sure to give her a bath when I got home. She ended up being cleaner than when I set off

I got to ride 2 bikes! When we left initially, I was on a 600rr and she had taken a really nice R1. Once I had gotten my muscle memory working again, she let me take the R1... I almost ripped my arms out of the socket getting on the GSP

Have I ever told you that I hate you? The closest thing to a ride I've gotten in about a month now was pulling it out of the garage real quick to use the decibel meter

Re: Mmmm. December riding fix. (w/ pix)

Didnt get a chance to ride Sunday when it was nice in the high 40's, but i took the EX500 out for a little 20 mile ride around town on Christmas afternoon when it was mid 30s, and then Saturday afternoon took it to the gf's in the afternoon when it was around 40F. My zx6r (it may look familiar to some of you) is full-on winterized until spring, but the 500 is ready to go in a couple minutes notice.

I did get to find out that the highbeam filament in the 500 is out, figures, I've read that 6 months is about all you can get out of a silverstar.

Good luck getting even that I hate those things. However if you write to them, I heard they send you more...I'm not sure thats good or bad

Nice pics Pete, glad to see someone rode. I stayed home and baked excuses all day.

Wow, great shots, Pete. The one with the sunset behind your bike is cool. I got some time in too that day, and another a week or so earlier. Winter's hell to wait thru as far as riding goes, but on those rare days when you can ride makes it all worthwhile....

I was stuck in DC without a bike on Sunday (visiting the parents), but I did get out for about 30 miles on my V-Strom yesterday. I came home in a much better mood.
