I hate the bolt. Ozzed cheap. Lots of flimsy plastic. Exceedingly dumb LCD speedometer that you just couldn't read in the sun.
    And terrible, terrible cornering clearance.

The only bike I've ever ridden that I liked less was the Royal Enfield. The (brand new) Enfield literally had parts falling off on the test ride. So that is a very low bar.

Serious? That's fucked up. How could brand do that to themselves.

A friend is researching getting the Road Glide ST with the 131CI engine factory installed. Yeah, he's a bit...eccentric with his vehicles.

Comparing side by side dimensions, the Low Rider ST claims 721lbs "in running order" while the R18B's "road-ready, fully fueled" weight claims 877lbs?

Comparing more apples to apples, even the Street Glide's weight "in running order" is 814lbs.

So do you think this hurts the resale market of the more traditional HDs?

If I remember, base model is +/- $30K. I'm guessing the factory 131CI install will run in the $6500-7500 range in addition. He hasn't actually gone in yet and spoken with a talking head. He's been poking around online, but plans to visit a dealership soon. I'm curious as to what that'll cost.

Nah. From my limited experience, the resale market on anything HD is incredibly brisk.

    Re: New Models From HD

The new CVO SG & RG will have updated fairings & lighting that are rumored to have directionals integrated into them, among other things. Usually, the design & performance queues trickle their way down to the rest of the touring models within a few years.

EDIT: I believe the CVO's also get the "new" 121CI engine...

I'm shocked they're already re-designing. The re-designs of the batwing(2013) and sharknose(2017) came after something like 30 years of the previous iteration going mostly unchanged. I'll be curious to see what the new models look like.

Edit: just found the pics.... ooof, not a fan

I'm not a fan of the redesign, but I like the idea of integrated directionals. Unfortunately as I said, this will eventually trickle down to the base & Special models as well.

And I honestly wonder if the directionals on the Road Glide are 50 state legal...

I'd give it two, maybe three years and it'll be on all SG's. I'm not a fan. I don't like the scoop on the bottom nor the squared off top of the headlight. I *DO* dig the directionals though.

I was thinking of trading my 15 SG 103 for a newer Milwaukee 8 114. Think i'll wait now. I actually like the looks of both. i'll wait to see them in the showroom.

You can only currently get that look if you buy a CVO model. It'll be a few years before that look trickles down the "regular" models.
