The fact that it has the single sided rear swingarm makes it a lot more enticing. Sooooo sexy.

The fact that Ducati is making another mid sized monster makes it alot more enticing.

but $10k and no adjustable forks? come on...

Nothing wrong with comfort, and it isn't like you are emotionally attached to the 848.

    My 998 owns me.

I am emotionally attached. there's some days when riding it is surreal. then there's other days when I just can't get comfortable, 30 minutes is about all I can do on it. plus now that I have someone to ride with me, I really hate pulling my nuts down out of my throat when we go for a 2-up ride. its not comfortable for her and doubly uncomfortable for her. I was thinking about picking up a 3rd bike for 2-up riding. like a late 90's early, 2000's VFR for 2-up, but I'd rather stick with a ducati.

I'd love to just have 1 bike at this point, haha. Monsters do everything well from my experience.

I wanted an M800 or S2R800, but now that I've seen this.

Commute, sure. Occasional trackday, sure. 400+ mile day, sure. Not a problem.

Problem with the ST3 is that owners demand a premium for them in the used market.

ST2 on the other hand is a little more reasonably priced.

Good to know. How is the ground clearance on these new Monsters. That (and I don't care too much for the looks) is my only concern.

i figured as much with the hyper. I like the looks of it better than the monster, but I really like the 796. looks like the 1100 but cheaper and smaller. looks like its coming through with ABS as an option, some kind of wet slipper clutch, and a weight thats about the same as the 848. all win in my opinion. however, its still not nearly as sexy as the superbike styling.

Yeah, I go back and forth on the new ones. I doubt I'll be able to afford one.

You can find S2R800s now in the $5k range, soooooo....

I'm real glad to see an ABS option. I hear it can be a real ass-saver.

Thats a sharp looking bike. Maybe if mass will let me run some straight pipes on that thing I'd go for it. Make the exhaust look like the one below...

You Sir know nothing of true greatness. I of course refer to ones ability to steal, drink and generally do nothing, and carry it off with style

my roommate has an older monster 750 that we took his pipes off of and ran it around Brighton. Our neighbors weren't too happy, but It took a few hours to get that smile off of my face...
