decent gap between stoner and rossi so really ben and nicky aren't looking too bad. normally i think you could shrug these results off as it's the first test of the season, but with limited time avaiable this year i'm sure most were pushing harder than they would have last season. tomorrow will be a pretty decent indicator i think

VERY surprised to see Loris up there!

Especially on the GSV-R, which doesn't seem to have kept up with the pack in the past. I've been a fan of Loris since he was on the Ducs with Bayliss, I'd like to see the ol' dog stay healthy and finish strong this year.

I think it definitely goes without saying that quite of few of the guys were only going at 8/10 or 9/10, I even saw Pedrosa in particular saying he wasn't even trying to push all out today, because they were testing the suspension setup more than the new engine.

Three Yamaha's in te top 5, Spies ahead of Colin and the first rider after the "four". Interesting, but I think we will have to wait and see a track that doesn't suit the Yamaha as well (Qatar).
I'm really a bit surprised to see Melandri where he is. Hope he starts to improve.
