Any opinions on the BMW F800 S and ST

I have been looking for a bike to ride two up with my wife, the RC51 just does not cut it!

She likes the seat on the F800S.

Does anyone have any opinions on them??

The bike only came out in 2007.

Just to note, the bike will be an addition to the garage, I am never selling the RC!!

For 2 up riding, the ST has handlebars and is more upright compared to the S. I think that makes all the difference. I like both bikes quite a bit, I have an F800GS on order (if it ever arrives). The engine won't blow you away, but its very competent and I like its character.

If you're close to Merrimack, NH head over to Secondwind BMW and ask for a demo ride. They're very willing to have people out on the bikes. I demo'd the F800ST a couple of times and I really liked the package.

Thanks for the info. I too was looking at this bike. I haven't sat on an st but really liked how the s felt. I'll have to get up there and take an st out.

I have been dealing with Wagner BMW.

I prefer the ST as well but the wife likes the red color that is only offered in the S.

I think I can talk her into the ST.
