    Re: MotoGP2018 (spoiler)

I love Marquez. Ya he had some really stupid moves this race. I think the botched start was a bit panic and a bit confusion by the officials. The moves on Espargaro and Rossi were just dumb. Probably should have been black flagged after he crashed Rossi out.

I love him because I feel since he moved to the big bikes he has made what was pretty boring racing to watch with Lorenzo just riding off into the distance on a Sunday ride more exciting to watch. Even when Marquez is a mile ahead of everyone he stills throws it all out there. From a spectator stand point it has been outstanding. The last person that did that for me was Simoncelli. I don't want anyone to get hurt out there. I also don't want to be snoozing at my computer after 3 laps because everyone is just riding in parade formation.

I completely agree. As much as people don't want to admit it, Marc IS motogp. He makes the series, the way Rossi did for so long.

Absolute crash-fest yesterday, in spite of that not a particularly exciting race to watch. Best commentary so far here. Word of the day "cuntador."

I can't believe that incident took all 3 of them out. Here Marc, have a championship. No, please, take it.

Finally caught up on the races. Argentina was ridiculous. Good to see the Ducati bowling league hasn't lost their touch.

Rossi is weak but awesome seeing Suzuki grab some podiums.

That's about as good a result as could possibly have happened.

I think the only reason they had a clean race was because he crashed himself out. MotoGP2018 (spoiler)

    Moto2 was fire.

Marquez has lost his emotional confidence? He’s riding frantic with no reason. That said, I admire his tenacity to win. The championship would be boring AF if he just played it safe.

Marquez's riding has been very intriguing over the last few races... I can't tell if he's riding this way because he wants the championship so bad that he's willing to do anything to get it and he feels threatened... or if it's because he has so much confidence in himself and the bike that he thinks he can get away with absolutely anything... Perhaps a combination of both.

On another note, I'm super happy that the points chase is as close as it is, AND that Rossi is sitting in 2nd It would be absolutely fucking epic if he won one more championship before he retires. I'd love that.

Yeah, Rossi just needs to stay on the podium and see if Marc will self destruct. He said he almost crashed 10 times before he fell, and more after. Riding over the limit only works for so long.

Forget crashing, at some point an injury is going to catch up to him. He's been lucky so far.

Maybe...his style of riding results in the majority of his crashes occurring at the slowest part of the corner when his elbow and knee are firmly planted on the ground. Can you remember the last time he high-sided? There is obviously risk of injury in a low side, but with all the new suit tech and safety mechanisms/guards on the bike, it isn't that bad.

I think he's got it figured out. Somehow the math works out. He uses his elbow to mitigate the risk on corner entry so much that he can push really hard there just about every lap. This allows him to dial back the risk of "dangerous crashes" on corner exit and fast corners. I bet at a flip of a switch he can basically put the bike into a "no highside" mode.

That's my conspiracy theory and I'm sticking to it.

    Re: MotoGP2018 (spoiler)

Yeah, excellent point... he seems to take the biggest gambles on corner entry where risk of injury are lower. And he's given himself SO MUCH PRACTICE sliding that front tire that the saves (as well as attempted saves) have been absolutely stunning to watch.

It's gotten to the point that when he's really pushing hard I literally find myself thinking "ooh, are we gonna see another epic lowside save here???" Fucking awesome.

    Re: MotoGP2018 (spoiler)

Don't usually like seeing anybody go down, but after the crap Marquez pulled on Petrucci in the first lap I didn't feel too bad for him.

Not a huge fan of Lorenzo, but he ran a damn fine race and I'll bet Ducati is feeling pretty good now. Also love seeing Suzuki getting up there in the front.

On a side note, it's pretty sweet when you log in to the "no spoilers" portal to watch the race and it redirects you to the homepage with a giant "LORENZO KING AT MUGELLO" headline
