And danilo in at Ducati. Very happy to see that.
Interested to see Lorenzo on Honda. Just interested. Not thrilled. Just Interested.
I like Danilo, but I don't like the move to the factory seat. I don't think it makes a lot of sense, he is already on factory equipment and I don't think this will give him the edge he needs. Recent article summarized it pretty well, I really like this quote:
Danilo isn't going to win the championship. I'd like the seat to go to an up and comer, fresh out of moto 2. Maybe someone who's winning on a KTM in moto 2...Quote:

Im not sure what Danilo brings to the table, but obviously its something.
Lorenzo on a Honda makes him the only current rider with a 3-factory resume, doesn't it?
Ok, things are getting weird. I think Lorenzo could reign supreme on the Ducati for years to come, but he signed with Honda. All parties have to be kicking themselves at this point.
Marquez taking a measured and smart ride to 2nd in a crash fest? weird times indeed. If Jorge goes on a long winning streak, can he get in contention? Can Marc stand to ride for 2nds to get a championship?
Interesting race for sure.. Lot's of crashing... Moto3 as well.
If Lorenzo goes on a tear it could change things.. MM can't stand second for long..
I don’t think MM will tolerate coming second for long. But that means he’ll be even more aggressive. Maybe more crashing on his part. If that happens and Rossi can continue to ride consistent, I think we’ll see a change in the top spot in the championship. (Wishful thinking)

What's changed on the bike to make it all of a sudden work for Lorenzo? I feel like I haven't heard any mention to "what they found" in the set-up.
He was complaining for a long time he needed a new tank because of fatigue. He said if they gave him the tank he wanted he could hold his pace. Looking back this rings true. He lead many races for 6-10 laps only to fall back into the pack. He didn’t complain of tires dropping off, he complaine about fatigue. I’ve never heard of a rider getting to tired because of the tank but there you have it.
Agreed.
Only thing I can compare this too is a poor bicycle fit. A few milimeters of movement in seat position or bar reach can make all the difference, but that’s in power output, not fatigue. I wouldn’t think it’s the same for motorcycles but maybe it is at that level.
Or the mental thing, the dude is a known head case and his fitness levels are all over the place. Maybe he’s just banging on all cylinders right now and it’s as simple as that.
Not that I am a MotoGP rider, but being over 6' tall, a tank and the size and the position definitely matters. I usually ride a Ninja 650 on the track, and that tank is so skinny and not proportioned well, that I cannot get a good leg into it. I therefore end up holding myself up with my leg muscles rather than resting on the tank. This takes a lot of energy out of you over the course of some laps. When I get on a proper sportbike with a nice wide tank and positioned for holding a knee, I can ride with so much less effort and this also frees me up from using my arms as much. It really makes it seem like a Sunday drive compared to my 650.
Assen. Wow.
Amazing race!!
Yep
Mother of god.
That was amazing. Blitzkrieg. Such a cool thing to watch 8 guys within a second of each other, all pushing the limit 100% of the time, with everyone having a real chance to win. I have to admit...and hang my head in shame...I was actually pulling for JLo to hold them off and go for the threepeat. In a lot of ways because if he went on a real tear it would be interesting to see what could happen with the championship. I really hate his character, but I love watching him ride when he's on point. There's so much to say about the way the rest of them rode I can't begin to type it all here. Going to have to get the old gang back together, have a few beers, and watch this instant classic again.
Is anyone surprised that MM came out on top of the pile?
That was a bar brawl. I loved it.
Rins was possessed. Loved that "stand your ground" pass on MM.

Post race interview Marc said he wanted until 6 to go to not risk running out of tire.
Cal also mentioned that the Honda overheats if it doesn't have clear air in front.
I still don't understand Marquez' near crash when Rins passed him. They didn't touch and the bike was practically upright when he lost...the front? I'm thinking maybe he just got spooked and his foot slipped off, but I don't think Marquez is capable of being spooked.
Total madness!
Really happy to see Rins up there with the Suzuki - first race on a new engine.
I thought Rossi was actually riding pretty damn well but got swallowed up a few times. Still couldn't fight back enough though.
Seeing Marc take off at the end.. wow. I think he was just sticking around and having too much fun.
