Typically when someone is a "beer guy" that means a preference to higher quality brews.

Bud light - the chosen brand of drunk driving litterers. The cleanup only told you what the most popular beverage is among assholes.

most litterbugs don't drink, vast majority of litter by far is Dunkin Donuts, and as far as booze, there are more nips than beers

You forgot about all the old men with milk crates tied to their klrs, I mean bicycles, that rove the countryside picking up cans to turn in.

maybe in states with a nickle deposit, price of aluminum is not worth the effort

    OK SNOBBERY
My point is its compact and the coffee is stored for easy packing on a motorcycle

    This will bunch your boxers
I also make sure that I know where the nearest Walmart is in case I have forgotten something, even if soaked down
    I am $30 from a new outfit

    Re: Motorcycle camping - should I or shouldn't I?

After spending a bunch on hotels last summer, we're planning on doing quite a bit of moto-camping this year. After growing up in the woods I don't know why it never really donned on me sooner. I have a few areas picked out to just ride and find a "quiet spot" up north.

Originally I was going to get a higher end back packing tent but for now strapping a relatively cheap two person to the top of the bags is fine. Ended up picking up some new sleeping bags, a pocket rocket stove, and after reading this thread it sounds like the sawyer filter is exactly what I need. I'm still debating on some compact camping stools, and need to pick up a cooking set. I picked up a waterproof bluetooth speaker for some music that also works as a battery charger. A telescoping fishing rod will be coming along as well.

Should make for a fun (and inexpensive) summer!

I've only used my sawyer mini a few times, but after looking around at options before buying it, it seemed like the way to go.

Is the winding road option really worth it? Or does it just stick you on whatever non-highway 'route' is nearby? I was thinking about buying one the other day since my old tomtom's battery has reached the end of it's life. I use the phone mostly, but still like the dedicated GPS in specific situations.

First long trip I did with the bike, I was like fuck it. I don't need a chair. After the trip I was like fuck that, I'm buying one. This one has served e well the past few years.

I used it all the way to Savannah GA and halfway back. It's worth it.

I bought the $25 TomTom App for my iPhone though. Cheap and worked well. Also displayed speed limits which you can't get on a lot of apps these days.

Of course they tried to "upgrade" me to the new version which is a subscription based model. To this I said "Nay-Nay".

We gave the Helinox chair (though much cheaper then), added some aluminum tubes with 3D printed feet to make it higher.

Also have a 3 legged, light, compact and cheap.

I'm surprised you didn't design the feet to meet the ground/floor flat before you printed them.

    Re: Motorcycle camping - should I or shouldn't I?

Check out the International Brotherhood of Motorcycle Campers, great group! I've found its best to mix it up a bit, a couple weeks of breaking down and setting up camp gets tiring of your adding a bunch of miles during the day. Looks like you're on a Wing, you can carry gear. My wife and I were on an 08 Concours w top case. Of course we had a 2 man Sierra Designs Meteor Light, I would suggest a tent rather than the bivy sleeping bag/tent option just for space. A Jet Boil stove small set of pans and a campfire will cook anything you need, I had a French press for my Jet Boil but usually did instant coffee. We got 2 North Face sleeping bags, REI has packed size on their website go small! Air mattresses and air pillows. Don't waste time with all those funky chairs, get a Kermit chair. Made in TN, packs small, comfortable and will hold some weight! Yeah, they are a little pricey but worth it. Gerber/Fiskars has a small hatchet for splitting done kindling, dryer lint for fire starters.
    Enjoy!

Take it from an experienced distance hiker. If you have that great Kelty tarp, there is zero need for the tent. Free up tons of space and weight by leaving it at home. Set up the tarp in the stingray config with the bottom corner facing the weather. Rainy? set the high corner a bit lower. A 9x9 tarp set right is much drier and more comfy that any 2 man tent. Have light weight long sleeve/leg clothes for bugs and a little Deep woods Off for you head/face/hands.

Use a ground cloth and set up in places where others don't tent to benefit from the superior drainage of soft untrampled ground. This is the lightest AND most comfy way I have ever camped. Liberating! Ditch the tents.

Just got back from a 9 day 2900 mile trip. Lived off the bike all but one night. Very peaceful and it feels weird sleeping inside again.

I'm not capable of writing in a way that would do the trip justice. Suffice to say the following states were involved and some epic roads were found in most: MA, CT, NY, PA, MD, VA, WV, NC, TN, KY, OH and back through PA and NY to VT for a few days.

A few random pics, the good ones are Jeff's, the shitty ones mine and one from Daviid.

From what I saw on FB that looked like an incredible trip! Extremely jealous... hoping to do something similar later this summer.
