    Re: Motorcycle Industry Help Wanted

There is the potential for a little engineering work, but the main hole we are looking to fill with this position is to find someone to coordinate advertising and marketing (this is about 50% of the job). The rest of it involves doing whatever it takes to help our customers including taking orders, pulling and shipping orders, customer service, etc...

Anyone who is interested, please send your resume along.

Ah, yes......that is actually by design. Lots of wide open spaces here. For those who like riding dirt bikes, there are lots of places to ride / race around here......we have 2 racetracks within 10 minutes of the shop, plus a couple more within 30 minutes.

I would love to have that job, I just have a feeling that it wouldn't pay anywhere near what I make now.

    Re: Motorcycle Industry Help Wanted

It may not. It is pretty inexpensive to live out here (a sharp buyer can get a house in the $100K range) and we have an enjoyable work environment every day. We all love working in the motorcycle industry. I think that there is some value in all those things. We're not minimum wage, but this is not a six figure job either. I'm sure that we'll be able to find someone who feels the same way that we do and is also a good fit for our needs.

if you guys need an engineer id be out there in a second. My photoshop skills are not the best though. Solidworks, PE, Autocad, etc., I can design a freiking submarine but illustrator skills aren't super at the moment. I am, however, awesome with customers, technically savvy, and a baller.

If you want to get rich don't work in the motorcycle industry!
If you want to work around passionate & rad people, work in the motorcycle industry.

I can vouch that the Woodcraft HQ is one of my favorite places in the whole wide world to visit and hang out at. Good work environment!

Eric-you should look into local community college-type programs for kids in the graphic arts programs. I'm sure there's more than a few motorcycle enthusiasts in the programs and they're usually willing to work for less money. And some of the programs will let them earn credits while they're working in a 'related field'...

    Re: Motorcycle Industry Help Wanted

I stopped by the Woodcraft shop a few weeks ago. The crew in there was very friendly and helpful. I went in looking to fit a few different odd parts together (from different rear sets) and the guys there were able to make it happen for me. I was very pleased.

I had a little trouble finding the place cause I was focused on looking for a sign that said Woodcraft. There are no signs on the road. Just a long driveway that you cant see up till you turn in.

along that same vein many prisons have work-release programs and you can get those employees for next to nothing. Just dont let them have a toothbrush that could be fashioned into a shiv of sorts.

I'm thinking that we are going to stick with trying to find a person that wants to be in the motorcycle industry for a good long while. We have very low employee turnover here, by design.
