Re: Motorcycles and where they live
Mine is currently a WIP. Paint goes up tomorrow and epoxy soon thereafter.
3 bikes are home now, the other 3 are in a storage unit (for now).
I hope to update this thread soon when the project is finished. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...ad3d7c23bc.jpg

Re: Motorcycles and where they live
everyone that is eating, sleeping, and shitting next to their bikes should consider hitting me up for storage space

I thought you were full? Man, I wish I had your floorspace!

Good eye! Yes, there is a trolly and hoist on the I-beam. I bought the heavy, thicker beam so I could make the span, and be able to pick up 2,000 lbs.

Full for winter riders, but if you just need a place to keep it until May then there is still room here. I'm considering a 4 post lift for next year too.

1250lb low-profile motorcycle dolly from Harbor Freight. You can get them with a 20% off coupon. They are very well-made and are really useful if you have a smooth floor...

They come with cheap caster wheels, I guess you could change them out if you want. But on relatively smooth surfaces they work really well. You don't secure the bike to the dolly -- you simply put down the bike's side stand onto the dolly. I've never had a concern with it tipping over.

I've had an HF dolly for a few years now - in my experience it rolls around fairly well. The casters are very small so any debris on the floor, or if the floor is uneven, that can be a problem.
The VFR has been very stable in the dolly. I've never felt it was going to fall over.

Yes, put the bike in 2nd, run alongside it with your chest and belly leaning into the gas tank. Hold the throttle at 10 percent open get up to a little faster than walking and drop the clutch. Do nothing with the throttle until it lights and is revving a little. Then do some blips.
Or... get a drill setup to spin the crank. https://www.accu-products.com/accu-p...rter-tool.html

They make starter nuts for the RS bikes. And a tool with a one way bearing that you attach to a drill to spin it. Game changer, worth the $180 for both.

Shouldn't be hard to start with a drill. something else is wrong. but cracking the throttle and holding it there is important. I used the choke on my first start of the day if cold out. same throttle technique.

I've got about 10lbs of shit in a 5lb bag here haha. I kind of stuffed everything into the garage when we moved and am still sorting it all out. I need about three more of these garages. Haha

Come ride with us this year!
Re: Motorcycles and where they live
Where our bikes live: the garage is dedicated to the bikes that are in active rotation. The bigger shop is where racebikes being worked on or stored for winter live. All are heated . This is largely why we bought this house. Haha.
