Motorcyclist doing 205 mph pleads guilty

he plead guilty even though they proved the top speed of his bike was 159 mph? A good lawyer, hell even a bad lawyer, could have proven clocking error ( off 46 mph ). and got the whole thing dismissed. I would never have plead guilty even if I was going that fast.

    OMG

Rookie............... The man convinced him: " this was the way..............."

Ya own a bike that can't possibley do 205 MPH

    Minimum Driving while not licensed.

    Shoulda got an attorney.
A lesson learned the hard way.

The winner? The cop who would have had to testify that his reading was accurate.
    Cop was lying (COVER UP)

Motorcyclist doing 205 mph pleads guilty

Had to be the possibility of jail time that changed his mind. "Take this option and no jail time. Take the other and jail is a possibility". The possibility of jail (even if not probable) is enough to sway people. The tought of Bubba (Nikon) and a scene involving dropping the soap...I'd be doing community service...

Motorcyclist doing 205 mph pleads guilty

"If this kid gets past his probation and community service, he could have a future in motorcycle racing," said Joseph Daly, professor of law at Hamline University and a former prosecutor. "He just needs to keep it on the racetrack."

man, ain't that the fuckin truth... if the kid can make a 160mph bike go over 200 just IMMAGINE what he could do w/ a MotoGP bike... HERE WE COME 300MPH MARK !!!

What a crock of SHIT! any "street cred" that kid earned in the motorcycling community just got flushed down the shitter... in my opinion the kid's a fucking PUSSY for backing down on this! I woulda fought that thing to the death just on principle alone. hell, 200 hours of working at Mc Donalds at minimum friggin wage probably would have paid for the lawer & his record would be clean

it just went from a story to tell your grandkids to a story you wouldn't wanna tell a soul for fear that they'll ask how it ended... "Oh, i pussed out & did 200 hours of work w/ kids at the local Fat Camp"

I was thinking the same thing

so if going fast on the highway makes you a racer I'm going after Rossi tonight after work, I could use the money.

Motorcyclist doing 205 mph pleads guilty

I beleive that he did the right thing for our sport by pleading guilty. SO FUCKING WHAT they mis clocked his speed by 60mph, ut's not like he wasn't still speeding close to 100mph over the posted speed... do you really think that a judge cares about the exact speed.

I trial would have been BAD publicity for the sport, this way his insane speed will be quicker forgotten by the public than if there was a trial that WOULD have attracted media attention

I can't beleive though he accepted 200 hours community service... that's a fucking lot of community service. jail time & a fine might have been easier

Motorcyclist doing 205 mph pleads guilty

The point for me saying he is a fucking pussy is, it's the states burden to prove he was doing what they said, 205mph. He wasn't so why did they stop him if he wasn't doing the speed they said he was, being off by 40+ mph is more then enough to get the case thrown out, or if you do goto trial then the jury has it in thier hands...

cop says 'i clocked him at 205mph'

attorney has expert say 'this bike will only do 159mph'

attorney says 'if the speedo don't flip, you must aquit'

Motorcyclist doing 205 mph pleads guilty

I was in court once on a speeding ticket, I easily proved thatI was not going as fast as cop said.... judge said it didn't matter still if he could determine beyond are a reasonable doubt that I was exceeding the prima facie limit.

I figger in this case. whether he was going 159 or 205 it is still relatively easy to prove toa reasonable person that he was exceeding the posed limit, regardless of how fast he was going

    either way

I still stick to my post that he helped motorcyclists everywhere by avoiding the publicity of a trial
