    Motul Perfect Leather

When you ride your motorcycle as much as I do you are bound to run into some bugs hitting your windscreen. As you can guess with living up in the northeast the spring and summertime are filled with critters flying through the air. One of these (or many) unlucky fellows will eventually splatter all over that nice piece of leather that is protecting your skin.

With the downtime that is winter I decided to give this new Motul product a try:

There were some reviews through the bike magazines I read that this was great to restore you leathers and get rid of some of those bug grimes. I said to myself why not?! A click and purchase with a few days wait and later it arrived.

I haven’t used nor look at my leathers all winter and when I finally did boy was it a sight. It was not only caked on with bug debris it was also dirty from normal daily use.

Both of my seasonal jackets had their fair share of bug splatters on them that needed to be cleaning and thus my elbow grease commenced.

Directions said to let it sit and work into the leather for a while and rub in circular motions, so thus the boring wait began. Although through rubbing out the first stains of the my jacket I realized that it was easier that after you let it sit to actually just wear it and then begin the scrubbing process.

With a good amount of scrubbing done the results are followed.

After what seemed like an eternity scrubbing in circular motions i finally finished with the cleaning. The product worked very well but you must put in a lot of elbow grease to get all the stains or most of it to come off. For the price I would recommend this to anyone and it does leave a kind of enjoyable scent on the leathers. On that note the leather regained some shine and some soft feel that has come to be to be associated with leather that has been worn in.

    A+ product.

i recently did a suit of mine with luxol and it came out pretty good. my suit was filthy and hideous. its a 2 step process though. clean then condition. i was thinking of trying the motul but couldnt find much info on it. this looks like a good quick cleaning product. i might grab some and set up a monthly cleaning routine.

I was thinking the same thing. If you tried this to my leather jacket, you'd be scrubbing for at least 24 hours.

Great write-up. Nonetheless, if that's what you consider caked on and dirty, I'd probably have to hang my head in shame if you saw my leathers.

I hit one bug in jersey last year that covered my whole shoulder in yellow goo. probably a 5 inch circle of destroyed pterodactyl bug.

I really need to clean my leathers. Jason I'll give you $30 to clean both of mine and buy you another bottle of that stuff.

sport rider had a mini write up in their product review section and i figured why not give it a shot. you just have to let it sit for a bit so it sets in and scrub away!
