They don't call em stealerships for nothing...

I feel bad for people who don't bother seeking out their local moto forums. I'm also thankful for the guys on here who offer their tire change services at a good price (you all know who you are!).

Me and KB have done that at trackdays, drive a truck over the a ramp leaned on the sidewall to break the bead.

It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?

Having done up my own wheels, I'd say $50-60 is fair for the labor & tools. Add in overhead (property, insurance, etc.) though... Shops would have to do a hell of a lot of tire changes at $50 to keep the place open, let alone make a profit.

Absurd is right....especially when the wheels are off the bike. You figure that most service departments charge labor at $75/hr these days. So unless you've got a tech that is VERY slow there is no way that it takes an hour plus to remove and install two tires on rims.

Mount 2 tires, rims off the bike....

They guy in manch cleaned the weight spooge off my rim with brake clean..my rims are painted, not coated. So now my rear rim looks like shit. The rim is still still functional, so not too much of an issue. But for whatever reason when he didn't even really show any remorse or cut the price for me, I stopped going there.

RJ's in Nashua mounted my last set for $30 a rim and kept the old tires. Someone on another forum said they got a $50 a rim quote from RJ's, but the Yami place on route 13 in Milford, NH quoted him $20 per rim.

Obviously you'll want to call first and confirm either of those though.

Look at the top of the forum for the guy who does it for $30

Yes I made a good bead breaker for $6
1 stud and 1 door hinge

you need a tanked air compressor to set the new bead.

Most do if you're running their tires. Otherwise there is a charge. I don't know any that will just mount and balance for free for some street riders that show up with a bike/rim and tire wether it's their brand or not.

Stow from Michelin has been really good to me a couple times mounting tires, I only run michelin and have had 3 sets mounted, only 1 I bought from them, and he did all of them for free.

Hey (Off-Topic?) Who is the one that says, if you get your tires at the track, that they mount & balance for free? Is this a normal thing?
haha - degsy sold his machine so the CGS is without a tire changer... the free mounting is when you buy the race tires, which are not what your looking for...

ps - M1M Motorsports is doing it for me
